A disparity: When violence is taken “seriously”.

Ever notice the difference in attitudes regarding violence directed at men and women, especially when committed by the opposite gender? Here’s a nice reminder of how violence against men by women is portrayed as comical, this time from The Independent newspaper. (Please click below for a clearer image)

Little gems like this simply serve to highlight another one of the golden rules of western society:
Violence against women committed by men – an endemic problem, symbolising male dominance over women and never justified.
Violence against men, committed by women – comical and entirely justified.
The only “comical” aspect about such cartoons however is that, if the roles above were reversed, this cartoon would never get published.
It's one cartoon, I know. In the big scheme of things, this little piece of artwork is bloody well insignificant. But what it represents – the hypocrisy of a feminist dominated definition of violence is itself not quite so trivial.

Re: A disparity: When violence is taken “seriously”.

Perhaps violence against women is on the rise because violence against men is completely ignored? Just a thought.

While I'm not going to condone violence against anyone. I think women are 75% of the problem. 50% is violence initiated by them. 25% by just their constant unreasonable demands and abuse[verbal, emotional, sexual]. Feminists just don't get that women are the majority of the DV problem. And don't even get me started on child abuse/neglect issues.

Quite so, chev.

I don't know whether i'd go as far as 75%... but it takes two to tango - thus 50%. Regardless, you point out the child abuse & neglect issue; that is perhaps my biggest beef with the current custody issues that men face - especially when I've seen that my ex left red handmarks on my children's skin - but I'm the one who's limited to a contact center.
The system is corrupt.
