Today I was reading a thread, and I came across a post from TPTM, and noticed the guy now has "972305446" rep points. Not to say that he didn't deserve all those points -- he did -- but it's the extremely high nature of them that I'm starting to notice. I mean, with all members here. The numbers are so high that it's no longer obvious just how valuable a person is to the board anymore. There are no commas to separate the numbers into chunks of 3, either. Just a long string of numbers. It's like you have to care extra hard about rep points in order to keep track of this stuff anymore! I propose that, if we keep the current rating system at the "X-hundred million" level, that after a certain threshold of points is passed, all members get a one-size-fits-all indication of rep points, something like the following: "TPTM has a SHIT LOAD of rep points" Nothing more need be said. If you wanna manipulate the php and formulae used to determine the points, be my guest... Me personally, I'm tired of keep adjusting them to keep one group of folks happy, only for another group to complain so change it again to please them, only for yet another group to complain, so change to please them... and so on and so on and so on. I can't be blessed to keep changing it on what is now as good as a bi-weekly basis.

No matter how you configure the rep points, there is always going to be divisive opposition irregardless, and used as a means to develop a power base to unduly effect the influence of subordinate/gullible others to serve individual agendas - which disrupt the harmony and wellbeing of the forum.
"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State. Looks like the whole issue of rep points is solved...there aren't any...lol I find that kind of humorous, actually.... But I feel for Marx who is probably sick and tired of hearing about rep points..trying to appease all of us.
