Honestly, I don't even know how to find what I am looking for on this board and I have been on sooo many message boards over the years. This is the only one where I can't find the topic I came here to see.

If I can't find my way around....how about newcomers?

That would be "General Chit Chat".

I have to agree with you to some degree, tho' - even tho' that in the end I usually don't have a problem with finding what I'm looking for, the forum is "a little" too fragmented for my taste.

What I want to find (the rapex thread) is somewhere in the BLOGS.....I am not going to look for it. I am discussing the topic on 3 other forums right now but this forum deserves to be up there with SYG, startrek.com, etc... but it won't happen if people can't find a MAIN area.

I have that problem as well. Plus the site goes down alot and things are not well organized, at least not to my liking. I browse more than anything and mostly post on Dont-Marry.com because it's a more simple layout.

The site keeps changing like every week too. Different bg's, now blogs and new forums and there are these ads IN the posts themselves, at least for me.

It's all very disorienting. :???:

The server side of things is a bit flakey, it seems I make bad choices where choosing my hosts is concerned. But, on a tight budget, beggers can't be choosers.

The adverts have been in the posts for eons. When it was a single skin forum there were adverts between posts 1 & 2 and also between posts 5 & 6. I've actually placed them 'in' the posts so as to make them a little less obtrusive. Subscribers, however, get the adverts automatically removed as a thank you gesture.

If you don't like the current skin it can be changed at the bottom-most left of the screen, using a pulldown menu. In the near future, languages will be appearing there too. The current skin is now the default, so will be seen each you visit as a guest. If, however, you change skins while logged in, it will revert to your chosen skin every time you log back in as a member.

By the top of each page is a 'navigation bar' - this has a wicked link on it known as 'search'. By clicking said link, it will offer an input box where you can type in keywords - if need be, you can even use the advanced search facility which allows for narrowing down of search criteria to individual forums and/or membernames.

The general chitchat is the main forum.

To your left is a navigation menu which should be fairly easy to understand and use.

How to use a search box:

Step 1

Click the cryptically named link 'search'. This will open a shocking 'search box' where in you can type anythign of your choice.

Step 2

Seconds later you will be presented with a curious list of spontaneously related (to your keyword/s) posts.

This super cool facility will save you having to manually inspect various sub forums on the site, which, shouldn't really be too difficult to locate with the help of the navigation links to the left of every single page on this site.

Telling me General Chit Chat is the main forum is useless, it is the newcomers who need to know but then MAIN is self explanitory. Besides, the thread I want is NOT IN General Chit Chat.


Look, I am not trying to be an asshole but new members need a clear path.

I think the "Raw Deals: A Men Only Club" and "News Articles" forums should be moved up and "General - Chit chat" below those. Move "Blogging Hub" below "Men's talk". "Welcome Wagon" should be at the bottom, because it's not one of the most important sections.

It's still not well organized. Two of the most important forums News Articles and Raw deals: A men only club should be higher up more in the top and forums that are less important moved down. Which I already explained in a earlier post.

I keep track of discussions using the Today's Posts feature. To traverse all the forums and sub forums every time, I find too laborious. And yes, then there's the search function for older threads. You can also subscribe to a thread, by the way, to easier keep track of it, if you don't visit daily.

CJ, thanks for the mention... I will be doing so in the near future. Usually, the link appears directly under the adverts (but as they're now embedded, I figured that would be too much info inside a persons' post). I will be adding links for that.

I added a link on the footer (i.e. shows on every page, without being intrusive) for subscriptions as well as another link to the main forums.
