It was like a movie: puppy-heist victim

The victim of a botched puppy-heist in Sydney this morning said she felt like she was "in a movie" after a woman allegedly drew a gun and demanded a chihuahua that was for sale.
The 26-year-old woman went to a house on Perkins Avenue, Kellyville, in Sydney's northwest, at 11.30am on Sunday with an appointment to buy a puppy.
"She asked a few questions and the next minute ... she draws out this firearm and [I was] thinking 'am I in a movie?'," dog breeder Ashleigh Johnson said.
She said the puppy — named Diego — was sitting with her father.
"My dad put [the puppy] a bit towards [the woman] ... and then I just remember dad grabbing the gun ... I'm having trouble dealing with that," Ms Johnson said.
"As soon as I'd seen dad grab the gun I quickly ran out of the room.
"All I kept thinking was I didn't want the gun to go off pointing at my dad because the way it was, he was struggling with it and I'd seen movies where guns had been grabbed and it goes off."
Ms Johnson said the woman was "remorseful" and told the group "I don't want to hurt anyone".
Police said the woman was restrained by the occupants, who included an off-duty policeman, and had her firearm seized.
Officers arrived and arrested the woman, who was found to be carrying a replica of a Glock pistol, and she was charged with robbery whilst armed and possession of a prohibited weapon.

She will appear in Parramatta Local Court on October 15.
