Most did not believe that it was what he said it was,a Canadian gold maple leaf, they thought that they were going to be conned,i know what the major coin's look like and i own some, but without a scale and gold/silver testing equipment on me,i would also be suspicious why he was selling it on the street.
The people filmed here were more worried about looking stupid on camera, they had seen too many candid camera episode's.

It is like the situation when your on a beach or a beach front, and you have a guy come up to you,and he wants to sell you a gold chain,he say's it is pure gold and to prove it he flip's out a lighter and holds it the chain,he shows you the carbon build up he then cleans it,it is as good as new, and that prove's it,well it only prove's whatever metal that he is trying to sell disgused as gold, does not have a melting point of 100% celcius.

Did anyone of them even ask about it? If they would have done that to me, I would have told the guy to wait a minute and look up the coin online and if it exists, take a shot at it - it's not like if they were looking for a sucker, they could have made the exact same coin markings. Besides, 20$(ha) is nothing if you live in a million dollar house. lol

Shagda, besides the Anglo-Saxon countries people put the currency sign at the end.

Lets not forget that most people in the US (if that is where this was) KNOW that even a Canadian quarter is worthless here and will not work in most vending machines...

Have you looked at the explanation people gave? I mean, people just said shit like... Oh, I don't need it. Nobody said that they wouldn't buy it because they don't think that it is legit. lol

They did not want to insult the guy,and call him a street hustler, they just came out with an excuse, like i have no money,i do not need it,or some just ran away or i have only a credit card on them,it is a funny video, but most people would not buy gold coins on the street for $50$ or even a coffee,it come's under Murphy's law's" if a deal is too good to be true it usually is".

What would have been funny is if he had approached me outside my home,i would have tested it,and given him $50$ or the equivalent of any fiat.

Something about "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
Golly, and to think of all the "deals" I passed up by folks selling Rolex watches out of a suitcase on the streets of New York. I was always amazed that they would openly
carry around 40 or so US$2000-$2500 watches, just feet away from those dangerous Three Card Monty folks, and the open drug market dealers.

Call me jaded, but I can tell plate silver from sterling just holding it in my hand.
A jeweler friend handed me five 1/10 OZ. gold coins to "consider".
I instantly picked out the counterfeit one, just by touch.
Strangely, I don't conduct such transactions on the street.
(Well, maybe with diamonds in certain VERY SELECT parts of NYC, where the bagels tend to be quite good)

I'm amazed that "legitimate" companies that cater to the same suckers that paid
US$5.00 for a "special edition" US$0.25 piece can also make a living marketing
"special" rounds of over struck, gold layered, painted (enameld) Obama/Kennedy "proofs".

    Buyer beware
