Maybe. I say maybe because of Hopkin's age. At that age, you never know which fighter is going to show up. The same warrior with all his faculties, or the old one. The one that suddenly ages right before your eyes during the fight. if the former one shows up, then calzhage willbe outclassed. I hope that's the way it turns out, because Hopkins deserves it, as he is one of the only real fighters left with a legitimate record of proven fighters. He is a true warrior, even though I don't like his mouth sometimes.

No doubt. Hopkins is one of the best fighters out there--right up there near the very top IMO. He is sorely underrated. From what I unerstand, unorthodox Calzhage hasn't fought true class yet--and that's what will probably happen--he will be outclassed.

I heard Hopkins head butts quite a lot to try to open a cut then he works on that. I'm no expert, but is that true? Not so classy if it is.

Yeah, it's really easy for a Brit to get a split decision in Vegas.

to tell the truth, I would have maybe called it a draw(which would have been a win for hopkins had cortez taken a point for the low blow, and with the KD in 1

I don't know--with the 10-8 round, body shots, and straight rights, I thought it was skewed toward Hopkins, who landed the harder punches. Calzaghe's punches were slipped and blocked by Hopkins--hardly a flush punch. The thing is, Hopkins defensive tactics costed him. Calzaghe pressed the fight and it paid off. It was like a DeLahoya/Trinidad style loss. I suspected that would happen if Hopkins didn't get more aggressive. Too much respect. I think his age is starting to show. | |||
