    OK, enough tongue in cheek.
Why, may I ask, need it be a catchy phrase that everyone (possibly including us) will get tired of in the end?

I thought I'd already explained that. The media, especially tabloid newspapers, love puns and rhymes and anythings that rolls off the tongue. The phrase 'toy boy' was popular for years and is still in use today, well over a decade after it was first used.

Touché, you did. If it helps the situation then I will support it.

I put in for Paul's 'Boy spirit' it's a good 'un.

The concept of 'girl power' originated with the Spice Girls, whose lyrics, videos, and interviews were routinely filled with anti-male bile.

From thereon, to this day, girl power became synonymous with denigrating and demonizing boys and men ("boys are stupid, throw rocks at them" merchandise, for eg) in order to make girls (and women) feel 'even better' at the expense of males. This has become another battle line drawn in "The War Against Boys" as Christina Hoff Sommers mentions in her aforementioned book.

Girl power became 'yet another' legitimate platform to promote female supremacy.

Obviously the idea of instilling confidence, and a sense of positive direction in boys is good, as long as it doesn't take the same spiteful, hateful, and destructive path of girl power.

The internet has been a lifeboat for men's opposition to the floodings of feminism.

The most offensive thing you can do to a feminist is treat her with FULL equality.

Yes, as Geri Halliwell never ceases to remind us (since 1996!) that she invented the phrase and concept of 'girl power'. She took the batton from the creators of Thelma and Louise, which started the concept of male bashing for female entertainment and empowerment (in the film industry), and extended it to the music business for girls to bash boys and young men.

I think if something were spiteful and hateful in an ironic, illustrative, way i.e. through satire, then it might have a use. We need to shock women into realising what they are doing to us and especially boys. I'm afraid most women I meet have a total empathy failure with regard to what men are going through, so maybe we have to actually show them what it feels like.

I like this idea. Boy power!

There should always be both sides to the same coin available to us and given their own allowance. If we're going to have feminism, we should likewise have masculism, regardless of the flaws of such gender-biased worldviews. I see no reason why we shouldn't have boy power to balance out the now culturally institutionalized girl power, seeing as the propagation of the former is a much more realistic situation than the dismantling of the latter at this point.
