Re: Merkel promises Jews and Muslims in Germany that circumcision WILL be allowed despite controversial court ban

It is with very mixed feelings that I have to say the biggest problem it ever gave me was that the gals liked it just fine, making me get to like what they would do for it a little more than was healthy, definitely a young and virile man's dilemma. The same cock that helped make my son was used against me for years beforehand to drive me half mad with denial by his future mother. But, as Woody Allen would say, don't criticize my hobbies. The part of me with enough self-respect to see to the need personally instead of begging or adulterizing was the sane half I met back up with when she left me, and I found bachelor life quite to my liking.

Question Re: Merkel promises Jews and Muslims in Germany that circumcision WILL be allowed despite controversial court ban

Ultimately, the vast majority of reasons used to justify mutilating an otherwise healthy baby boy's genitals can be easily discredited with other, natural remedies. A tight foreskin can be eased-up by letting a child play, which is natural. Infections can be avoided by cleaning with warm water. And so on.

The simple answer is there is no reason to go around mutilating children of either sex.

So, a parent has the choice to mutilate their baby boy but no choice on whether they want their daughter circumcised (yes, I'm wording things this way intentionally). We know that the majority, if not all reasons used to justify mutilation of a baby boy's penis can be easily resolved through perfectly normal methods (i.e. warm water & soap). We also know that many boys die from botched mutilations.

So the question is, why take the chance when there's no need?

With all due respect I question not the legitimacy of the issue but the degree of emphasis on it, and again the naming of circumcised males as mutilated.

This is, at least in the perceptions of onlookers trying to form their own conclusions on a single issue outside the attempts by a movement to build an ideological platform out of a plethora of issues, simply an alienating use of language to make a point as well as assign a misplaced status of victim for those of us (along with my Jewish brothers and others who have this practice as part of an ancient code of customs that I, in seeking justice for men generally, am not trying specifically to challenge or discredit) who do not and will not name ourselves victims or our parents as mutilators for a clinical procedure that has done us no harm, when a great many things that place us in a lesser role for being male have.

No one is asking you to call yourself mutilated. You are a free individual and thus quite open to decide for yourself how you see yourself. If you're happy then I'm happy for you.

What I'm not happy with is baby boy's having an unnecessary procedure which affords no benefits whatsoever forced upon them. This practise frequently goes wrong, leaving at least 100 baby boys annually disfigured or dead - in the USA alone. In other less developed countries, the numbers are considerably higher due to the lack of sterile equipment being used which leaves these young men (as they're usually done in their teens) open to life-long infections and worse.

It is wrong to refer to this as an operation, a medical procedure or clinical issue. The vast majority of 'cuttings' are done for outdated religious purposes not medical. A medical, clinical procedure or operation would clearly indicate a medical necessity - and there is none. What God made you with should be perfect in it's own right. Having a natural penis isn't going to somehow inflict life-long diseases on any man nor is it going to mean he is somehow evil and deserving of only Hell in his afterlife.

Just in case anyone hasn't clicked the link... Merkel is a woman (or at least has a remote resemblance to one).

Have your day with it then. Hope this doesn't lead to feminists calling for assault charges on fathers for cutting umbilical cords...

Still don't see the specific gravity of this one up against the everyday needs of men facing downsliding status at home and at work. But best of luck. Meanwhile I'm back to trying to find a way to spend a week with a boy I haven't seen in two years, whose mom won't lift a finger to help. Germany is pretty far away...

German circumcision ban makes nation a ‘laughing stock,’ Angela Merkel says

Merkel’s government has already criticized the Cologne court ruling and promised a new law to protect the right to circumcise male infants
