Re: Article: Dannon Superbowl Commercial
You have to realize such a misandric advert wouldn't work if advertizing agencies hadn't deduced there was a sizable captive - female - market who would buy into it! The corporate ghouls are just marketing a fashionable social theme!
I know damn well the vast majority of men wouldn't buy a product if an advert depicted a woman being headbutted by a man, so you have to draw your own conclusions.Last edited by Celtic Druid; 12th-February-2012 at 05:17 AM.

Not many men eat yoghurt.. I guess its a healthy food, and when women eat healthy foods, they like to have a version of it that is not healthy, stuffed with fat and calories.. Hence greek yoghurt!

Re: Article: Dannon Superbowl Commercial
It is this difference that speaks volumes to me about many females. I know that females, the same females that supposedly don't like confrontation, will chime in from time to time to tell us "not all women are like that" but where are they to protest the misandric norms put into place to tell the people "we shouldn't treat men like that"?
You see? They're so quick to tell us not to generalize women but they're slow to tell companies, the government, other women and men not to demonize men. It is one thing to tell us "I'm not like that" but it's another thing to show "them" that they aren't like that. When I do this, and I know I will, it will be comparable to the lame learning to walk, the blind being enabled to see and the suffocated breathing again. The sky isn't the limit; there are no limits.

Re: Article: Dannon Superbowl Commercial
I still find it incomprehensible how some people and particularly men who claim that sending an email is a waste of time. That type of thinking is exactly why we get nowhere. If any of you have EVER worked in a company that receives emails, or part of their business is via emails. Those emails are sacrosanct. Those emails are the driving blood for the business. Those emails are analysed, dissected, discussed and acted on because it is the only feedback that most of those companies receive unless they have a large marketing department where they can gauge their customers interests and behaviour..
To make the claim that emails are in fact ineffectual is so far from the truth as to be brain numbing. It is basically just an excuse to not make the "2 minute" effort or live in ignorance. Both have the same affect..
We have in the past totally destroyed sexist projects, programs and articles via emails and as we have seen in the past, the efforts of the "Glenn Sack Horde" work that down to a fine point as to even force media companies to produce new programs that were not so anti-male as was the case with PBS and it's representation of abusive fathers while denying that mothers were ever like that. The entire production was made by a feminists with the usual sexism and bias that only they know..
People do apparently have short convenient memories when justifying their lax behaviour. If we do not have a strong response mechanism in place that utilises emails as a protest mechanism then we are certainly wasting our time.

Re: Article: Dannon Superbowl Commercial
Quite simply: it you want to be heard on the issues, you need to speak up. Emails, phone calls, even snail mail. If we as a group speak up and speak out on misandry and DV issues, we will be heard. It's just a matter of taking a few minutes to write an email or make a phone call. Moving from armchair MRA activism to active activism is just that simple: Send an email or make a phone call or both.

Re: Article: Dannon Superbowl Commercial
People should of course make the effort when they feel strongly about an issue. No private company wants to lose business, and of course it is usually estimated, that there are ten times more folk who "vote with their feet" than complain.. There is a difference in the private sector, competition.. Unlike in the state sector, where there is none and they can easily ignore any complaints because its not as if there is another version of, say, family law, that the punters can choose to apply to be processed by..

Feminists: without men you would not be reading this or anything else, not on a computer, not sitting on a couch or any other type of furniture, not inside a home or other structure, not enjoying plumbing, electricity, heating, cooling, satellite TV, internet access, refrigerators and the varied food contained therein, a car waiting for you to drive, talking on your cell phone, on paved roads with traffic control devices for your safety, over bridges, through tunnels, to malls, parking structures, hospitals, airports, to waiting aircraft to fly you anywhere in the world using communications/GPS systems to guide them there.
Without men you would not be capable of judging the previous paragraph as one big run on sentence, as men developed the written word and the codification of words.
Without men you women would be living in naturally formed caves and killing each other to live in them as there would not be enough to go around!
Before you reply with irrational diatribes about how there are some women that build or provide these things, as if they represent all women when men represent only their individual achievements, remember that if men didn't exist none of what I mentioned would exist for women to learn about from a man in the first place. Women would never have developed 99.999% of everything you take for granted that only exists because of men!
This isn't about men being superior in these areas, which they clearly are, but rather about RESPECT AND APPRECIATION !
Your life would royally SUCK without men!
No air time necessary for women's accomplishments as society has been inundated with that crap for literally decades, enough of that propaganda from the insecure and self entitled!

Can anyone tell me who Dannon's main competitors are in the yoghurt market? I would like to send them an important message.

My e-mail:
To: dannon@casupport.com
Dear Sir/Madam,
Your superbowl ad, which, according to your Consumer Response Representative, Ms. Lisa Moore, involves "a funny and playful depiction" of domestic violence, has recently been brought to my attention.
I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that from now on I will never purchase any product manufactured by Dannon or any of its affiliates or subsidiaries. I will also make sure to ask my family, friends, and colleagues past and present around the world to join me.
As an aside, if you are, by any chance, interested in losing even more business than you already have, you may be interested in running a funny and playful ad where a man beats up a woman for a spoonful of yogurt.
Yours sincerely,
John

Re: Video: Superbowl Commercial
To whom it may concern,
I wrote to you six days ago regarding your promotion of violence against
men in your advertising campaign.
More specifically, I requested a personal reply from you instead of the
automated and untruthful email reply you have sent out to the other
people who have complained about your promotion of violence by women.
So after six days of patiently waiting, I am curious why you have been
unable to offer a simple reply?
I include my original complaint in case you need a refresher.
Regards,

NBC Pulls Nike 'Slasher' Ad - ABC News
NEW YORK (Reuters) — NBC, responding to viewer complaints, has dropped a commercial for Nike sports shoes and clothing that features a female Olympic runner being pursued by a chain-saw-wielding man.
A spokesman said today that the ad, which was aired over the weekend as NBC kicked off its coverage of the Olympics in Sydney, Australia, had been pulled because of complaints. He did not say how many complaints the network received.
"We were fully prepared to react quickly" to complaints, said Rick Gitter, who oversees advertising standards for General Electric-owned NBC. The network had accepted the ad "with some trepidation" and "subject to significant adverse audience reaction," he said...Last edited by Dylan MacVillain; 14th-February-2012 at 04:30 PM.
