Yeah OK,
The "power" of music, is defined differently by each individual.
As a musician, I cross a very wide range of forms, genres, call them what you will.
I may have said this here before, but I tend to like bars or measures of songs.
When I was an orchestra bassist, we tried playing the first part of the "War of the Worlds" musical version.

To hear a full orchestra work in unison, from sheet music, never having rehearsed before-hand and perfectly "in time", fill a hall with sound, has a certain something to it.

With respect to rock music, the idea these days that you need more tone-shaping, effects, sequencing and volume to get your ideas across seems rather counter-productive to the whole idea of music.
