Re: How Lady Catherine got the owwies(Public Service Announcement)
Well, I found the answer to my own question, and seems to be purely for sexual appeal and to thrust the breasts out further. I would have thought no less from women. What nonsense. Here is an excerpt of the article which says why women like high heels.
There are many reasons why high heel shoes appeal and are considered sexy. First of all high heel shoes make a woman appear taller than she really is. Secondly high heel shoes accentuate the appearance of the calves because of the elongated angle between the foot and the lower leg. Thirdly high heel shoes push out a woman's chest giving her an 'animal mating' posture. Fourthly, when a woman wears high heels, the buttocks tend to be pushed backwards, causing the hips to sway more. Last but not least the sole of the foot is visible when wearing high heels thus adding to the sexy look.
To practice walking in your high-heels, go outside on a hard surface and walk upright, back straight, one foot in front of the other, and do not look down towards the ground. If you practice walking in your heels inside your home on carpet, the surface will be too soft for you to get the true feel and wear of the heel. When you can do this over and over again with no effort, you are ready to walk out of your front door, fine and confident in your high-heels!
Many agree that learning to wear and walk in a high heel shoes is an art in itself. High heel shoes can make a woman look sensual and sexier. Some men also think that those women who wear high heels without difficulty appear confident and in control. High heel shoes comes in different heel types. These include thin heels, thick heels, wide heels, platform heels, wedge heels, kitten heels and so on. You have to find the high heel shoes that makes you comfortable and ones does not give you any discomfort or problems wearing.
Aren't these things wonders of modern science, you need to relearn to walk and appear in control and confident to men. I say, high heels are most anti-feminist, they stand for all the femi-nazi stand for.

A Triewe Knight who wishes to look taller than wot 'e is, may stand on a hound. Really courageous knights (in the Sir Humphrey sense) may stand on a Lion. Once.

Re: How Lady Catherine got the owwies(Public Service Announcement)
Actually tests have show high-heels don't accentuate the calves, buttocks, etc. at least when men were shown images of women's legs (where their shoes were not visible) most rated the women wearing flat shoes as looking better. They don't do anything aside from effect the gait (not necessarily in a good way) they're exceedingly bad for your feet. They give you back problems. I personally appreciate the way (some) heels look, and I can see why some women wear them on occasion. It's more of an informed quality though - they've become so closely linked with sexualized images that they've taken a sexual quality to themselves. It's not an innate thing though.
High heels are our cultures version of lip piercings, blue tattoos, brass rings around the neck - mass self-deception.
Their quality is an informed quality. This is true of a lot of fashion though. I don't see that this makes it something to fight against. On the other hand blindly going along, giving yourself problems, etc. Doesn't make much sense. If you want to see how strongly the idea of heels are linked with the idea of female sexuality or beauty look at pornography, or glamor modelling, you'll see even when a woman is wearing nothing else she's wearing heels. Why? If she's not standing up, none of their supposed advantages will be extant, and you can't walk in a photo, so creating a supposedly seductive gait is a moot poot as well. Just try putting it in google image 'hot girl,' or 'sexy girl,' any string like that. Observe the images and you'll see almost every professionally taken image in which you can see the persons feet they will be wearing heels.
A really good example would be something like sports illustrated - I'm pretty sure I've never once seen a woman wear high heels to a beach, or around a pool. They try to make that seem totally normal. Oh, makeup, that's another one. I've never seen anyone wear makeup at a beach. Never. The way I see it is if you're going somewhere where you're going to be taking most of your clothes off - if you need to worry about wearing makeup, fancy shoes, etc in order to court male attention then you're doing something horribly wrong. Not trying to be cruel.
As far as I can tell the original 'pump' as a man's opera shoe, anyway, and the original 'heels,' were stirrup/spur-heels for horse riding. Why did women co-opt them? When did we let that happen? I find it strange when you think women like men to be taller than them then they go and wear shoes that artificially increase their height up to six inches. Six-inches is MORE than the average height-difference between a normal man and normal woman.
So when a woman wears heels (avg. height 5'7) she's making herself 3' taller than the average man. Thus she deliberately makes almost all men substantially less attractive on a very primal level. Also she makes herself less attractive than them. How can this possibly be outweighed by the supposed asthetic advantages?

I don't know actually. >.>
As me:
I don't like heels because they are uncomfortable. But then again I very rarely do things to make me look better, I do my hair and I wear nail polish and some lip gloss but that's about it, I have piercings and stuff but I rarely wear those because I'm a proffessional first and foremost. The Bible is bullshit, the Koran is a lie

Re: How Lady Catherine got the owwies(Public Service Announcement)
The last long-term girl I had wore heels pretty much 24/7 and I mean 5' or more, always. She was 5'11 to start with, and almost my height when she got around in such shoes. She actually claimed she wore them because it drove men away. She had a very sort of pretty-girly way of dressing, and didn't like that generally it always seemed like she was on the pull but said men only hit on women who are shorter than them. So at 6'4 she avoided most.I don't like heels because they are uncomfortable. But then again I very rarely do things to make me look better, I do my hair and I wear nail polish and some lip gloss but that's about it, I have piercings and stuff but I rarely wear those because I'm a proffessional first and foremost.
Some women have very nice feet/ankles, and they should wear open shoes (not necessarily heels, but they do tend to look better for a sandal; they look very kiddy otherwise) that's how I see it. I'm not one of those guys who says women should dress like x but then I slob around. I know that being tall/skinny there are only some clothes I should wear, and so I wear them. I don't own any shirts without buttons, or with short sleeves, and that's a bit of a sacrifice because Sydney can get pretty warm.

It should not be a surprise that chairs are revolting. No chair has ever attacked me yet I put my arse on them every day and have broken a few in my time.
