Thread: Foods you hate?

Brussels sprouts. That's all I can think of right now. There are other things which seem gross to me, but I haven't actually tried them before. So I can't include them.

Lime flavored Jello on cheese pizza and sour cream on ice cream. I do not like those at all. Tried it on a dare in the eighth grade and was truly disturbed by those flavors. I also don't like roasted crickets. They are actually easier to get down when they they are fresh (the texture is nuttier, and the chitin seems to break up more easily when you chew). Orange slices in chili is also not on my list of good foods to eat. That is one of the few that actually made me gag. I had to wash it down with mustard in order to get the taste out of my mouth. I finished the bowl, but that was really rough.

I've never found a soup that doesnt have too much of a brothy/sodium taste to it.
Well my friend, you are in luck, my partner Stace and I were talking about this last night.
She is the ultimate chef, even though she is an ambulance officer.

Mate, what you need to do is create soup from a number of things, the best thing you can do, is buy cheap cuts of beef or maybe a roasting fowl (if making chicken soup), slow cook it and keep an eye on it.
Strip the meat off of the bones and put the bones in a muslin bag.
One thing I would say is this, never discard the skin off of a chicken, if you do, half of the flavour is lost.

As well, I NEVER salt my foods before I cook them, if people want salt with their meal, let them add it themselves.

Packet soup is rubbish, it is full of salt and other nasty crap, home-made is best made.

Over priced food's,not because i do not like cordun bleu,i just dislike spending good money for small servings with some poncey chef looking down his nose.
I can agree with that, but I do believe the term is Haute Cuisine, Cordon Bleu, is a chicken dish with cheese.
But, mate, I feel your pain, when Stace and I toured the UK and Scotland in 2000, we saw lots of signs on the foot-paths saying things like 15 pound breakfasts (that is money, not weight).
We stopped at a place on the M1 into Scotland and got pretty much done over as far as the quality of the food went.
It wasn't bad, but there just wasn't enough of it, a truck driver would have walked out without paying, if he was served such a paltry amount.

Raw fetid carrion, olives, pimento, and bell peppers of any color.
For some reason I'm OK with olive oil, and any other type of pepper.
