    Re: Class Action in Tasmania

We got 25 secs on WIN TV News at 6pm and midnight! And an inclusion in the hourly ABC radio news (in Tasmania).

My Superman was featured on the TV slot !! hahahaha

It answers the rarely asked question of what happened to Superman and what happens when he goes to seed.

    Protest against family violence laws

    · Map: Hobart 7000
A group that has filed a $200 million class action against the Tasmanian Government held a protest on the steps of the Federal Court in Hobart this morning.
The group is calling itself Juries Against Illegal Laws and is claiming that the Tasmanian Family Violence Act 2004 is invalid and unconscionable.

They say the law allows for the incarceration of innocent Tasmanians on unsubstantiated accusations, without evidence and without bail.

The groups' president Ray Escobar says if the class action is successful the money will go to all the people who have suffered under the Act.
As you can see if you click on the ABC's map of Hobart, the city is very large. They show all of the Hobart suburbs out to 5000 miles north and 7000 miles to the North west.

Can I ask you all to give some International encouragement here.

Email Ray and give him some support.

Ask perhaps if he wants you to email newspapers or media. He can give you email addresses as per his strategies.

Perhaps you can give some financial support. It costs a small fortune to mount a Class Action like this.

I met a chap the other day who has put $30,000 in so far. But another $100,000 is being sought.

What has become of this, Percy?
I looked at the JAIL Tasmania website and it shows no updates.

There is one fundamental flaw with all of this:

To the feminist, men aren't human, so human rights don't apply to men in their eyes. They are the ones in power. You want to solve these problems? Get those people out of office.

It is one of the major problems with 'democracy' that getting people out of office is of little use if the incoming lot do not undo all the laws that the previous lot brought in.

A pox on all political parties.

To a limited extent I understand the need for continuity and therefore not to immediately wipe out legislation "just because" it was created by an opposing party.

On the other hand, I share your frustration when a party in opposition is strongly opposed to a law, then seems untroubled by it as soon as they are sitting in power.

In the UK, our current lot have gone one step worse: they are actually implementing laws and rulings dreamt up by the previous government but which they spoke against while in opposition.

Our Equalities Minister is still a junior minister to the Minister For Women. Which tells you what kind of "equality" this lot will serve up, just like that last.

Anyone want to join a Men's Party?

    Re: Class Action in Tasmania

Unfortunately the whole thing was thrown out of court. We had to face the public financed lawyers from the Justice/Prosecutors Department and witnessed the miscarriage of justice just as we knew (but hoping it would not be the case) would happen. Meanwhile, we are having a break for a few months before we approach the High Court of Australia with new legal argument and legal team...

    More later..
