First one though.... yes it is part of a manipulative strategy but not only. Most people learn fairly early on the there are rules to be followed, and some learn that they can make the rules. The 'respect' I spoke of is perhaps the most passive use of the word. The psychopath understands rules. He/she uses rules. They insist on others following the rules. They insist that you follow their rules. That is why they manipulate.

I have spent many years finding, selecting and appointing CEOs and Directors in large companies. There is a 'known' profile for a successful CEO which is close in many respects to a psychopath. They make the rules. They break the rules. They manipulate. They often bully. They are focused on their goals to the exclusion of almost any other consideration. Most though do not randomly kill people ! (Just some do)

nevo, most children raised by alcoholic mothers or that have no parents at all don't kill babies in this way. Actually, they don't kill babies at all. You can believe whatever you'd like to believe and that makes you feel good or support your theory, but it's as farcical as the feminists claim that men rape because of X or Y and how manliness is bad.

I have not meant "most children", but in this particular case, it is clear that had the child been in the custody of the father, this tragedy would have never happened.

Children brought up by alcoholic mothers not necesarily go down the criminal path. However, the majority of youngsters in prison or in safe custody come from a disfunctional family.

Just a quick question, with a slight change of subject, if it was the father, and not the mother, who lost their son in a shopping centre, only for him to be murdered by the people who abducted him, do you think this would be a focus point for the media, the way it absolutely, completely hasn't been when it was the mother who lost him?
I don't mean to be cruel, the whole thing is tragic, but I've always wondered that since it happened. My bet is that the media would have labelled him an incompetent father, with snide remarks like, "he was probably distracted by a short skirt", just my guess.

I do not know if this answers your question but there is a programme on television about British children lost abroad who are never found. It seems to me that the media are very selective in which cases are worth their while. In fact the police have a long list of young runaways who can not be found in a city like London, for example.

Where I live most teenage mothers are youngsters who have been disown by their own parents for whatever reason. Any council's housing list will testify to this fact.

It seems to me that the media are very selective in which cases are worth their while. In fact the police have a long list of young runaways who can not be found in a city like London, for example.

I am a dad. A father is - usually - not the same man he was when he wasn't a father.

My daughter has for a long time now 'ostracised' me. 'Disowned' me. Even with this terrible 'sentence' handed to an innocent man, I love her.

There is nothing my daughter could do that is so terrible that I could disown her.

If she murdered a toddler - terrible as that is - it would not alter my love for her.

Simply 'not marrying the father of her children' would be a smaller matter, important as it is.

Love is 'ours'. It is for us to give. It does not have to be deserved. It is not contingent.

I am in the same boat!

My daughter is still very young, however, I will be mighty cross with her if she ever uses her children to "cash in from the state benefits cow" or "use the children against their own father" or "hit the children or generally abuse them verbally or otherwise" or "whore herself by using the children to deliberately extort money from their father". On this last point I must add that a father should contribute towards his own children voluntarily.
The use of the family courts to extort money from a father makes the mother a whore and the judge the extorting pimp.

Children are born with an innate knowledge inbuilt through the process of evolution. This knowledge gives them an enhanced protection against the hostile environment in which they start their life. The most obvious is suckling to feed, other less obvious is the bond between baby and mother which is essential for the preservetion of life.

How much a child knows is a matter debated by theorists. Nobody disputes that knowledge exists.
