Re: WFP establishing Women-only food distribution centers in Haiti

Here's an interesting YA thread (now deleted) which I stumbled upon, entitled 'Do feminists have a conscience?,' which throws a whole new light on the discriminatory distribution of aid in Haiti being supposedly based on men's violence and indifference.

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...2132635AA5GjeM
    From Yahoo Answers

One of the most recent spectacular successes of feminism is the Haiti "starve the men act". The time-line of events is as follows:1) Feminists successfully lobbied for preferential and/or exclusive aid to women PRIOR (Feminists: do you know what that word means?) to the desperate pushing and pulling that occurred as people mobbed the food-aid distributers. The original argument for such bigoted behavior was the feminist stock answer "women are better able to distribute the food equitably",2) As things grew increasingly desperate, mob mentality began to take hold. Families urged their young men to make sure that they got some for their families,3) Feminists latched on to this as the new excuse for excluding men and their children from aid,4) Feminists successfully recruited armed forces to enforce this "starve the men" act.All of this is readily verifiable through news stories. So, do feminists have a conscience?Feminism: it's the new KKK.Step 5) Single men and households without women grow increasingly desperate for food begin to act even more violently, feminist blame them again,Step 6) Feminists increasingly cast these staving men as "brutes" to further justify this bigotry,Step 7) No feminist organization of any kind speaks out against this bigotry. And individual feminists that are willing to speak out are exceedingly rare (I have not seen a single one on this board). So, again, do feminists have a conscience?Mandy: I find it interesting that every time that I comment on this issue WITH references, no feminist responds. And when I do NOT list references, a feminist (who apparently cannot be troubled by research - it's too hard) claims that there is no proof. OK, the most critical step in this chain of events is the first step, when feminists successfully argued to exclude men prior to violence erupting. You do read, don't you? See link below, which is an editorial on the rationale for excluding men from aid by a feminist activist who works with MADRE (a feminist relief organization). The date of the article is January 13, which is WEEKS before the onset of violence at food banks. Note, well that this successful effort to exclude men did not even mention violence at this point (because it had yet to happen): http://www.salon.com/life/broadsheet...women_children

Well, damn! I hadn't realised the womyn's groups were promoting discrimination against men PRIOR to the mob-mentality... From the articles, I got the impression it was a reaction to the mod-mentality.

Another great video from johntheother on youtube. He is quickly becoming my favorite. This is the best commentary I have yet heard about the whole women and children only policy in Haiti.

Yep, the UN has ensured that men's self-determination and survival is totally in the hands of women (the ill-founded premise that women will redistribute the aid they receive to men also), which is contrary to their own mandates.

    Good video though.

This coincides with the things my son in the U.S.Coast Guard told me.The
Guard let all members of Haitian descent and any other volunteers that
wanted to help the relief effort in Haiti be in a volunteer
deployment. They say food is rotting, people are starving, dying in
rubble, dying of thirst and treatable injuries because USAID,the Haitian
government, and the gang lords are holding up all progress! The gangs
have pretty well taken over all medical supplies and are selling them to
the highest bidders,USAID is fighting with all military people over how
    to dispense food,water,shelter,temporary sanitary
facilities, clothes, blankets, and medicine to the needy. The Guardsmen say
that the place is such a mess that the harbors are full of ships that
can't get offloaded and the airstrips are full of planes in the same
shape! Lots of ships and planes are just turning around and leaving
because of all the gangs and the b.s.!!

News back from Nic Brockhausen. He and Dennis Hebler made it
    back
    somewhat safe and sound.

    To All,

I just returned from Haiti with Hebler. We flew in at 3 AM Sunday to
the scene of such incredible destruction on one side, and enormous
ineptitude and criminal neglect on the other. Port o Prince is in ruins.
The rest of the country is fairly intact.

Our team was a rescue team and we carried special equipment that
locates people buried under the rubble. There are easily 200,000 dead,
the city smells like a charnal house.

The bloody UN was there for 5 years doing apparently nothing
but wasting US taxpayers money. The ones I ran into were either
incompetent or outright anti-American. Most are French or French
speakers, worthless, every damn one of them.

While 1800 rescuers were ready willing and able to leave the airport
and go do our jobs, we were stopped by the UN and USAID (another
organization full of little OBamites and communists that openly speak
against America). These two organizations exemplared their parochialism
by: USAID, when in control of all inbound flights, had food and water flights
stacked up all the way to Miami , yet allowed Geraldo Rivera, Anderson
Cooper and a host of other left wing news puppies to land. Pulled all the
security off the rescue teams so that Bill Clinton and his wife could have
the grand tour, whilst we sat unable to get to people trapped in the rubble.

Stacked enough food and water for the relief over at the side of the airfield
then put a guard on it while we stayed dehydrated and wouldn't release a
drop of it to the rescuers. No shower facilities to decontaminate after digging
or moving corpses all day, except for the FEMA teams who brought their own
shower and decon equipment, as well as air conditioned tents. No latrine facilities,
unles digging a hole. If you set up a shitter everyone was trying to use it.

I watched a 25 year old Obamite with the USAID shrieking hysterically,
berating a full bird colonel in the Air Force, because he countermanded
her orders, whilst trying to unscrew the air pattern. "You don't know what
your President wants! The military isn't in charge here, we are!"

If any of you are thinking of giving money to the Haitian relief, or to the UN
don't waste your money. It will only go to further the goals of the French
    and the Liberal Left.

If we are a fair and even society, why is it that only white couples are
adopting Haitian orphans. Where the hell is that vocal minority that is
always screaming about the injustice of American society.

Bad place, bad situation, but a perfect look at the new world order in
action. New Orleans magnified a thousand times. Haiti doesn't need
democracy, what Haiti needs is Papa Doc. That's not just my opinion,
that is what virtually every Haitian we talked with said. The French-run
UN treat us the same as when we were a colony, at least Papa Doc
    ran the country.

Oh, and as a last slap in the face the last four of us had to take US
Airways home from Phoenix . They slapped me with a $90 dollar
baggage charge for the four of us. The girl at the counter was almost in
tears because she couldn't give us a discount or she would lose her
job. Pass that on to the flying public.

    Nick

Porky Domesticus has a neat piece up today.

    The Hatred Driving The UN

    http://counterfeminism.info/2010/02/the-hatred-driving-the-un/

In this disgusting little document from the UN’s Division for the Advancement of Women , a disgusting little woman called Elaine Enarson gives us all a peek into why things like the UN’s relief programs in Haiti are geared towards helping women. Gone are the claims that the gals are given precedence because that way everyone gets a share, and in their place stands the ugly truth – and as we all suspected, it is indeed about a feminist agenda.

In a summary of the week’s events for a 2001 meeting of “experts” on “Environmental management and the mitigation of natural disasters: a gender perspective” Enarson tells us that…

“Participants this week were guardedly optimistic (at best!) about the potential for significantly disrupting and transforming gender relations following natural disasters.

Amazing – this is about natural disasters, yet the emphasis seems to be not on rebuilding the affected communities but rather on affecting some kind of feminist revolution!

Enarson then outlines successful examples of this strategy, including this one from India, a country that in recent years has started to overtake the U.S in the misandry stakes…

“Disasters can be great liberators!! (Yeah, shame about all the dead people though – Porky) While witnessing a very vocal meeting of rural women in village Srirampur, Orissa, about a year and a half after the cyclone of 1999, I was informed by the NGO there (Church’s Auxiliary for Social Action) that before the cyclone, women would rarely come out and interact on social issues, let alone interact with outsiders. This changed after the cyclone, because relief packages of most NGOs, and even the government, were targeted at, or through, women. That phase really empowered them, made them amenable to interacting on social issues, and also increased their self-esteem and their status within their families and society!“

And even though Enarson and friends do give us some caveats as regards the woman-focused approach, said warnings focus not on men starving in the streets, but rather on pointing out that La Revolucion may entail some negatives for the Important Sex, as in the case of Nicaraguan men being put to work building houses which were then given over to the women! Not only that, but the men were paid for their work with food aid (wonder if the women had to work for theirs? Let’s guess,) but the “payment” was given to the women! Ain’t that great? You sweat all day in the sun building a new house, then not only do they give the house to the wife, they also give her your paycheck! Apparently, as long as leeches like the UN are around, a man doesn’t even have to get a divorce to lose his house! Much to the surprise of our feminist Maos, many of the men reacted by leaving their small communities for fairer conditions in the big cities – gee, those selfish male bastards…

Oh, and here’s an unexpected bit of info…

“As I began a project rebuilding houses for families affected by Hurricane Mitch I worked primarily with women. . . I had spoken to the American Red Cross and Save the Children USA, who had told me that they were putting their houses in the name of the women. They were also, like WFP, giving food assistance directly to women. . . “

So I guess it isn’t just the UN, it’s a bunch of other bastards as well! And that’s just the ones she tells us about, I wonder how many other supposed charities are just fronts for feminist activism?

And just in case you were wondering what kind of people the UN considers experts on who should live or die, it’s quite a diverse group, consisting as it does almost exclusively of left-leaning feminist women

    (P. There is a photo on porky’s blog worth seeing)

So there you have it. No more pretense about helping the women to help everyone else, Enarson’s summary makes it clear that a huge part of all this is not about helping people in need but rather about further feathering the female nest worldwide. It amazes me that an Assistant Professor should be stupid enough to actually admit these things on the Internet, but that’s affirmative action for you!

The rest of the filthy thing is here.
