Ultimately, I think birth will be taken out of the womb and into the laboratory. Like it or not, genetic engineering is going to be the way of the future (barring extinction or a dark age). Hell, as we move out into the cosmos and onto new planets, etc., we'll probably find that our bodies aren't adequate and/or efficient. Rather that wait to evolve into zero-gravity-friendly bodies, it would be much more efficient to design new bodies for that purpose. Sure, religious folks will probably raise a stink about it, but everyone will ultimately agree on its practicality. One could look on it as the next step in human evolution. In fact, I think it's pretty plausible that humans will evolve beyond physical bodies all together. Sure, we'll always need one to accomplish anything in the physical world. But basically, we'll be data that can be downloaded to different bodies for different purposes. Everyone would probably still have a body they consider "theirs." As for lesbos spawning from one another like the spores of a fern plant... Meh, let them. Down the road, when reproduction is moved into the laboratory, all they'll need is a hair sample from at least one person. Two guys will be able to mix DNA and have a kid, 2 girls, a guy and a girl, 3 or more people, celebrities, DNA sampled from historical figures.... This shit's just the tip of the iceberg. I just hope that when I die, I'm able to keep posted on human development. Unless there's other life in the universe that wishes to keep us in check, I'd say the possibilities are endless.

Yes, the eventual way of human reproduction is with artificial wombs (ectogenesis) externally from the human body, because that'll be drastically superior to natural pregnancy and birth. Any genetic errors and such would be fixable. It'll become standard, because such babies would be vastly superior to natural born babies. ~ A man needs a woman like a lion needs a stove. ~ ~ Women deserve only equal opportunity, not equal outcomes. ~ ~ Men are not collectively "guilty" of anything. ~ ~ Never needing to be pregnant is a blessing. ~ ~ Feminist ideology “men have to respect women, but women have no reason to respect men” ~ ~ Everybody makes choices, and nobody should be entitled to special treatment because of those choices. Equal results based on unequal treatment amounts to no kind of equality at all. ~ | ||||
