here in the state NSW where I live in Australia a major league football star was recently acquitted on a date rape charge

the old story - met her in the club had drinks then went back to the apartment and nature took it s course

the next morning sober

"rape" she cried

she didn't really want to screw him cause she was to drunk to assent she thinks

he got off because he was tried under the old law

the new law says that because of her drinking she couldn't give legal assent for sex

the fact that he too was drunk is no longer a defence now

the poor guy would nowdays be on the inside looking out

while she ponders whether she really did agree or not

I'm with Marx....if you hate one night stands, don't have them! What a concept.

Men drink and are responsible for their actions. Women drink and are not responsible for their actions. A man and a woman drink together and then have sex together, and it's all the man's fault!! If that's not both misandristic and misogynistic, I don't know what is! Where are all the feminists crying for equality and declaring that women are "equal, strong and empowered" and should not be treated as quintessential "damsels in distress"?

Each woman tells herself these laws are ok because "I would never misuse the power that the law gives me, but it's oh so nice to have the power." Laws are like guns to feminists. Just because other people might use guns to rob and kill, that doesn't mean that I want people to take my gun away from me. Same situation here. Deep down, feminists know that a woman is capable of consenting while tipsy, and they know that the law will be misused to put innocent men in jail, but they still want the law, because they want the power.

And just to be clear, nobody here or anywhere is arguing that it's ok to have sex with a girl who's passed out. That's NOT the issue. We all agree that's rape. This is about two people equally tipsy, but one of them is legally responsible for his actions because he has a Y chromosome, the other is not responsible.

Well, the article fails to mention that many women DO love one-night stands. A one-night stand isn't exactly a male-dominated concept. So the whole men love one-night stands, women love them idea is bullshit.

So presumably MORE than half felt it was a good idea.
