Deleting “Temporary internet files.”
Computer Tip.
Many of you may already be aware of this, for those of you who aren`t this is a useful tip.
Deleting “Temporary internet files” gets rid of files which are not needed.
Click on Start.
Click on Control Panel.
Open Internet options.
Click on General.
Click Delete.
Choose to delete any or all of the following:
Temporary Internet files.
Cookies.
History.
Form data.
Passwords.

There's programs which can do that for you such as CCleaner.
CCleaner is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. Additionally it contains a fully featured registry cleaner.

The above methods don't clean your system thoroughly and leave many trace elements (index dat).
Here's two excellent cleaners you can use by trying out the 15-day trial version, which has no limitations.
