1980s TV star Dirk Benedict (A-Team, Battlestar Galactica) has a brilliant rant on his website about how society has changed from the time of the original B.G. and now, with the 're-imagined' version. Quote:
I'm glad that Dirk Benedict speaks out against the feminist polluted new battlestar galactica series. After seeing a few episodes of the corrupted BSG I already noticed all that crap so I stopped watching it. ~ A man needs a woman like a lion needs a stove. ~ ~ Women deserve only equal opportunity, not equal outcomes. ~ ~ Men are not collectively "guilty" of anything. ~ ~ Never needing to be pregnant is a blessing. ~ ~ Feminist ideology “men have to respect women, but women have no reason to respect men” ~ ~ Everybody makes choices, and nobody should be entitled to special treatment because of those choices. Equal results based on unequal treatment amounts to no kind of equality at all. ~

I saw a few episodes of this show as well and they were rife with feminism - it seems women want to go toe to toe with men in a physical sense, smacking the shit out of one another. Most women though, would prefer to do it on the silver screen where the woman always wins, and where bruises are only so much makeup. Still, I have to wonder if the increase in relationship/spousal abuse doesn't have everything to do with today's modern incarnation of women? Ladies must really want to pound the living shit out of men, for so many television shows and movies to be featuring this kind of thing on a regular basis. So much for sugar and spice... The same reincarnated, politically correctified crap raised its ugly head in the Star Trek universe as well - especially with Voyager, in which the captain was a strong, decisive woman with a cyborg-she enforcer replete with breasts that could put an eye out for back up. This feminized society of ours cannot last! It will not survive pushing as it does continuously, in the wrong direction. Men and women at each other's throats, the state raising the kids, populations in decline and quotas replacing merit - and you really hope to one day colonize space and beyond - get a grip. Although, I do see men heading into space themselves to get the hell away from angry He-women and if there's a ticket available, I can tell you that I'll save every penny to get my hands on it. Our modern day vision of the future, is enough to make me reconsider the Amish lifestyle. Although I'll have to smuggle in a razor - no wife of mine is going to have hairy legs

As much as I liked the original Battlestar Gallactica, my excuse is that I was 14 at the time. In actuality, it was campy and not all that realistic. I mean come on? A bunch of cylons destroy 12 planets to the point that the humans have to travel out into space to find ONE planet that will save them. If the cylons were able to destroy 12 planets, then how is only one planet going to save you? Also, explain why traveling so slow and having various encounters with cylons didn't the cylons simply figure out where they were, what direction they were traveling then send a few base stars to finish them off? Also consider that if you are only 5 degrees off course, you would end up many light years away from the "Earth" that you are looking for. The new feminized Battlestar Gallactica has less glaring logical errors, but some of the same basic errors are still there. For example, on Caprica the humans are there for a year before the cylons decide to show up in force even though it's obvious the cylons knew they were there. Why bother waiting? Why not just attack the humans before they have time to build anything?

Ah, yes, those were the days when the world was young. Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek! Absolute twaddle but in the main enjoyable twaddle. The feminised, politically-correct, remakes are just crap twaddle. celtish - Just my twopenn'orth ![]() And tell them "If you have done nothing wrong then you have nothing to fear" - from The Secret Policeman's Handbook All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing - Edmund Burke Truth is hate to those who hate the truth - Alexandra In times of deceit telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act - George Orwell

The new Battlestar Galactica is the Michael Jackson of Sci-Fi. The makeover was not a good idea, they should have stuck to the original.
Blessed are the cracked, for they let in the light. (Spike Milligan)
