Thread: Noah`s Ark found exactly where God said it was.

Wot? Again? Christians (&c) have been finding Noah's Ark on Mt Ararat for centuries. Just like they have been nailing down the date of the second coming of Jesus for centuries. And getting it wrong, over and over. The christians don't care, because all they want is the buzz of feeling that their faith is justified. When it turns out to be wrong, they don't reconsider, they remember the buzz of being right and then move onto the next thing that totally proves their faith.

The slightest acquaintance with physics, geology, or biology will convince you that Noah's ark is a fable.

What actually happened is that around 8k years ago, the bosphorus collapsed and the Black Sea flooded. Some dude noticed the waters rising and loaded his goats &c onto a boat. Or maybe raft. Or maybe a community of people did this and the story gradually changed into being about one dude. Whatever.

No worldwide flood, no all the species in the world jammed into a wooden ship the size of the Titanic, no "opening the windows of heaven" to let the rain fall out or gigatons of water coming from nowhere. Just an old story about a natural disaster.

The movies don't seem to be playing for me...which Mt. Ararat was it found on? As I recall, there were 2 possible locations for it to be, and 1 supposed finding turned out to be a mudslide. While I don't quite believe the stories in the Bible are one hundred percent accurate I do think there was a great flood that some family survived by building a boat for themselves, along with livestock and selected wildlife...interesting story at any rate.

The one "myth" that pervades all ancient societies is the one about a great world-wide flood. And most fables and myths have some root in reality.
