    Environmentalism = Religion

Nice talk about it, all the bullying, political correctness, and atheism. The movement squashes discussion and comment. Kind of like the mess in Western countries RE family matters.

    Re: Environmentalism = Religion

Oddly, my Brother and I were on the phone only half an hour ago talking about this very thing.

I'm thinking this is more for the religion section than the news though...

Wife : "I dreamt they were auctioning off dicks. The big ones went for ten dollars and the thick ones went for twenty dollars."
Husband : "How about the ones like mine?"
Wife : "Those they gave away."
Husband : "I had a dream too...I dreamt they were auctioning off pussy. The pretty ones went for a thousand dollars, and the little tight ones went for two thousand."
Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."

    Re: Environmentalism = Religion

I have come to believe that every person needs something to believe in that is larger than themselves.

With Christianity being kicked at every turn, many people instead turn towards radical movement like environmentalism or animal rights.

Those who still cling to the idea that religion is not needed might want to take a look around, all that has happened is a switch from one religion to another.

Yes indeed Garak, I couldn't agree more.

    Hmmm...me too.
In fact, ONE of the groups in my regular sphere of influence often cites quite similar sentiments. We even have our own coins of the realm, depicting a variety of denominations, issued on an annual basis. ;-)

    Environmentalism?
    I'm all for it.
Noise and light pollution are two personal peeves of mine.
Thats why I endorse the use of flash hiding silencers for full-auto firearm target shooting.
(both legal where I live, for now)

Thanks Capt, we don't agree that often.

I face a small problem and since I am drinking...I feel like typing it.

My brother has started his own metal band, has put out a CD and has done numerous live shows. His band is focused on a hatred of Christianity.

His view is one I used to share but today my views have changed.

I have no idea how to tell him because he is very excited about his success and calls me to affirm his beliefs.

He wants to damage (or take down if lucky) Christianity. I don't know how to tell him that one religion will be replaced by another and that the atheists and political correctness go hand in hand.

He seems to think that Christianity can be eliminated without another religion replacing it. I have told him that Islam will likely fill the gap (Sharia laws in the UK?). It passed in one ear and out the other.

Oh well, story told, thanks for reading.

Wow and you're father is a preacher right?
I don't understand the hatred for christianity although I can understand the lack of belief.
Because my father is a preacher..LOL. Think about it.

So Billy, do you think I am correct in assuming that one religion (probably Islam) will replace Christianity if Christianity is destroyed?
