    'Action needed over broken Britain'

The Church of England intends to take a far more high profile stand on moral issues than it has done in recent years, the Archbishop of Canterbury has said.

Britain is a "broken society" and urgent action is needed, by the Government as well as the Church, to restore a sense of moral integrity to the nation, Dr Rowan Williams told The Daily Telegraph.

He called for the abortion law to be tightened, saying: "People are not happy about abortion as a back stop to contraception." And he added: "It's not like having a tooth out."

He praised Prime Minister Gordon Brown for changing tack on Tony Blair's plan for supercasinos and for plans to review the 24 hour drinking laws. "I'm pleased that one of the first things he did was to reverse the legislation about gambling, and the hint that they might be looking again at 24-hour drinking," he said.

In a wide-ranging interview he also argued that the war in Iraq had made it easier for extremists to rally support. "It has shored up this huge victim identity among Muslims, the sense that all over the world there are places that we are being attacked. An unscrupulous or fanatical preacher can very easily present this as a single picture."

But he disagreed with Justice Secretary Jack Straw that Muslim women should remove their veils. "If the question is can you choose to be British and wear the veil, of course you can."

But he also feels strongly about the wearing of crosses: "Maybe a school has a jewellery policy but a cross isn't jewellery."

The Archbishop also said middle class parents were damaging their children by pressurising them to achieve and forcing them to take up extra-curricular activities.

"Children live crowded lives, we're not making their lives easy by pressurising them, whether it's the claustrophobia of gang culture or the claustrophobia of intense achievement in middle class areas," he said

The most offensive thing you can do to a feminist is treat her with FULL equality.
Wife : "I dreamt they were auctioning off dicks. The big ones went for ten dollars and the thick ones went for twenty dollars."
Husband : "How about the ones like mine?"
Wife : "Those they gave away."
Husband : "I had a dream too...I dreamt they were auctioning off pussy. The pretty ones went for a thousand dollars, and the little tight ones went for two thousand."
Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."

In a further statement, a spokesman from the Church of Percy and the Apoplectic Saints vowed to put millstones around the necks of lawyers and Judges in the Family Court and cast them into the sea. "Bugger Guvmunt policy, it has Divine sanction", said the befrocked spokesman, who claimed the same Scottish ancestry as the PM as an explanation for his strange frilly attire. He dared the reporter to look underneath.

against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. “

    Indeed..

I was thinking of the statement made by the church..

Well, I have an ambivalent attitiude towards the church because they occasionally whimper and squeak, then all is quiet for a few more years..

They need to keep up the pressure, but I very much doubt they will..

they are too busy trying to get faggotry accepted in ..

I am a regular reader of "christianity" magazine and occasionallt they have articles bemoaning the absensce of men in the church..

But, sadly, one does so often see pompous effeminacy in all aspects of the church..

I have problems reconcialling some aspects of my personal lifestyle with the church and since I am not the sort of fellow to preach what I dont practice of bascially condone hypocrisy, I have a feeling that sorting the church out is not my job...

However, i truly believe that the church could have a bigger impact than all of the MRA' f4J et all campaigns put together if they got their fingers and other body parts out of their own arses..
