Women can sue if maternity leave slows career

Excerpt from the article here:

Quote:
Thousands of working mothers who fall behind in the queue for promotion because they have taken maternity leave will be able to sue their employer for sex discrimination, a High Court ruled yesterday.

It said that the time a woman takes on maternity leave - which can be up to a year from next month - must count as continuous service and be included where it affects her promotion. She is also entitled to be fully consulted about any changes to her job while she is looking after her baby.In addition, the court ruled that a woman harassed by a customer can take legal action against her employer for failing to protect her.
Distribution of wealth. Nothing else could this be. How the phuck could employer protect her - in advance and from customer's actions? What kind of preemptive action do they have in mind??? I'd really like to know.

womens intuition, womens intuition, Robbo if you have not aquired it yet you have not got in touch with your feminine side.

feminism is a disease the Doc is working on a cure. Symptoms include compulsive liar, constant aggression, allergic to logic, often affects women who are fat with short hair and big earings, but can be normal looking.
Reason tablets three taken daily. If the sufferer displays shaming tactics double the dose. Remarkably the illness disappears in disaster zones.

So they're encouraging women to stay at work instead of home with the kids, am I reading this right?

Womyn need to be 'independent' emotionally and financially, this is the top priority, did I miss something?

It said that the time a woman takes on maternity leave - which can be up to a year from next month - must count as continuous service and be included where it affects her promotion. She is also entitled to be fully consulted about any changes to her job while she is looking after her baby.

What I want to say about this is that: it's absolutely ridiculous. Imagine a employee woman being absent for up to a year due to maternity leave. This in all honesty cannot count or be considered the equivalent of continuous service, because the reality is that it's not continuous service! The fact is that it's absence from work for a long time. During their absences they are not productive, supportive, helpful for the company at all.

Maternity leave is mostly like a long holiday when compared to working at a company. Yes there are bad moments, but most of it is like a long holiday. In contrast work at a company can be hard, stressful, tedious, big burden, sometimes dangerous depending on the profession etc. These two opposites cannot be equivalents.

So this is totally unfair to employees (especially men) who continue to work all the time while women are absent for up to a year. Also women could repeat such absence.

This is clearly cheating other employees. It's cheating because women who were absent for a long time return and still demand the same credit, promotion etc when they literally did nothing at the company due to their absence. It's totally unfair to employees who actually did keep working all that time.

So men in the UK need to do something against this grave injustice such as take this to court and overturn it.

I've moved this thread to the Discrimination sub-forum, because this evil policy discriminates other employees, men in particular.

Re: Women can sue if maternity leave slows career

This is why I say feminism is anti-woman. It's like these womyn consider childbearing to be a CURSE, never mind that a woman's body was made to bear children.

They're trying to go against the natural order of things and wondering why they're failing.
