No wonder boys are doing badly in school with manhaters in charge.

I recall being in a similar position (though no-where close to as severe as the above article) when I was in school.

A student had been beaten up by another student one year his senior. He knew that bully's name was Karl and the initial of his last name, but not anything more - aside that he was a year older and considerably taller.

I got the blame for it, and was even denied the right to ask the lad why he was blaming me (I actually knew him and had always been on fairly good terms with him). I was threatened with being made to go home for dinner-times from then on and all sorts of restrictions.

At some point, the accusing teacher - our deputy head, Mrs. Bourne, discovered her error and had a quiet word. I am not joking when I say she was visibly disappointed in realising that I was not the culprit. No apology was offered, and when I told her of my relief at the resolve (of the true culprit being found out) she only responded "Why would you be worried about it ... unless, of course, you really do have something else to hide." (or that's as close as damnit to what she said).


It's not quite the catch 22 as above, but the vindictive attitude conveyed was very similar.
