I have said it before: BOTH parents are wholly, individually, jointly and severaly, totally responsible for their children. His refusal to even see his child makes him a cad. Her behaviour makes her a liar and a thief. Neither character flaw absolves them from their responsibilities.

That's the usual rant, but only the female has control over the birth of a child. Men don't have birth control pills because of a century of almost total discrimination against men in birth control research. Men do not have "choice for men" or any equal rights to decide about the birth of a child because of total sexist discriomiantion in rights of parents. The female gets all the rights, all the choices, all the options, and yet somehow men are "wholly...rseponsible" for whatever the hell results from her lies and decisions.

No, I don't buy that position. Her "choice," her responsibilty.

You are right about the current state of affairs which gives all the 'rights' to women and none to men, but that situation is what we are fighting to overcome. Then what? My 'rant' is decloupled from your point now as it would be then.

It's unfortunate that the one person who can claim zero responsibility for the situation, the little girl, is also the one who will suffer the most from it. I don't blame Eddie for being mad, he's definitely entitled to it, it's just sad that he's allowing his anger to destroy any form of relationship with his child.
