I hate to say it Mike T., but I kind of agree with Nevo- you should have seen this coming. Honestly, your mother is being a nasty little psychologically abusive cow. I'm sorry if that offends you with her being your mother and all, but it honestly needs to be said. "Stubborn and oppinionated" is far too convenient an excusing of her being abusive and obnoxious. I recognised the behaviour straight off the bat. Now I understand the strain renal failure can place on a family, having lived through having a mother with it as a teenager, but it doesn't excuse her behaviour in the slightest.

Honestly, sit down with your mother. Tell her that you've tolerated her abusive behaviour for too long, that Stacey is the woman you love and that while you'd love nothing more than for her to continue to be a part of your life if she wants to have you in her life, she needs to apologise for the way she's acted and treat your girlfriend better. Tell her that if she really loves you, then she needs to accept that you and Stacey are a package deal and she needs to accept that.

Like I said, this is partially your fault for letting her abusive behaviour slide for FAR too long, and you need to take a stand on this.
