So there's a feminist site, that tries to pull in normal women by pretending to be an online 'womens mag' while relying on typical a feminist mentality as demonstrated in this very article; such as blaming men and ignoring all other influences.

Let's not mention that Doctors waiting rooms are filled with women's mags or gender neutral ones, let's not mention that 90% of medical adverts portray only women as needing medical care, let's not observe that women's health receives considerably more government & private monetary funding and awareness campaigns which leaves men's health to pale in comparison, let's certainly not even consider that men are more frequently turned away by doctors when they do turn up "Oh it's just a cold... get on with it!" and most importantly, it is imperative that we never, ever under any circumstance mention that feminist groups have repeatedly through the last few decades insisted on promoting women's health concerns over & above men's health issues - it's not like there's a "women's health comity" and nothing similar for men, right...?

Yes, it's so much easier for pro-feminists to simply lump all the blame on men instead.

I talked to a Women's Studies major just the other day and she used that argument (in response to me saying that Men's studies is an off-shoot of Women's Studies and so not an authentic male mouth-piece), that "Ya well you've had the only voice for thousands of years."

I think that a lot of elitist types think that real progress is only occuring now, and that society is on the verge of achieving true gender parity. So male voices of pain, male objections, male protestations--all that is just going to be ignored for the moment. Literally, in the line of thought of their ideology, men's suffering is a necessary evil.

It's the temptation of some to contribute to a view of the Men's Rights Movement as a caricature. We're "whiny," and "retro-active," and other dismissive adjectives. I know that doesn't describe me. Personally, my Men's Rights bent is ultra-futuristic.

I want gender/sex equality. But it isn't going to be the feminist utopia of psychological enslavement of men. I will personally take up arms against any society or government that seeks to enslave me (I'm probably already on the government watch list so who gives a shit; these days, aren't we all?).

I'm sure it isn't immediately apparent, but I'm probably an outsider here. Many here want traditional, perhaps religious values. While I respect them in my way, I look to the future.

The mainstream at this time is just waving us away, we're a caricature, those professionals have much more important things to do, like their important (and wholly democratic, they'll assure you) social engineering projects. We're sticking around though, WingsOfLiberty, and I'll tell you why..

Because within the feminist movement, and their Big Government allies, and seen through the arrogant, pretentious dismissiveness of elitist types, men can see threat.

It is the most basic instinct to see threat, and not one that any organism is inclined to shake off.

Elites (I tire of calling them "the elites." They're people too, just pampered, entitled, self-superior people) are talking about genetically engineering aggression out of humans, about one day being able to predict human behavior down to the tee.

When men read these things, we instinctively know who are the real targets of such initiatives. The Men's Rights Movement isn't primarily about being antifeminist, or anti-woman. We are those things, to the extent that their power hunger encroaches on our rights as free men and our pursuit of happiness (non-turbulent reproduction is probably included in the definition of happiness). But to me, the Men's Rights Movement is about being there, for men, when it's necessary. And it is necessary now, and probably henceforward.

I don't trust the government or government-sponsored organizations to look out for me. I choose to be here, with other males prickling for a fight and keen on the issues, because I am convinced that now, and forever from now, men will be an endangered demographic.

We can see now at this moment what we can expect from "larger society": men are in college less than women and earning fewer degrees than woman, and it isn't a national issue.

I can't think of a way to wind this down. . we're not going away, because misandry is not going away, societal perceptions of men as evil are not going away, technology will continue to advance, the government will continue to elevate women and depress men.

Things will escalate; there is no going back. Men reluctant to join us now (for our Mainstream image as misogynistic, silly, "whiny," undersexed,) will join us eventually. The shame will evaporate like it was never there, and Men's Rights will become part of national discussions everywhere in the developed world.

I know how to wind it down now! I am personally an asshole--I'm self assertive about trivial things, stubborn, and frequently forget proper etiquette. But I don't claim to be representative of the Men's Rights Movement. Not one of us on this website is exactly like the others. The fundamentalist religious converse with the Dawkins-admiring athiests, there are some seriously extreme alternative lifestyles that our members adhere to, liberals to conservatives, monarchists to communists (okay I made that one up).

The differences between us are more important than our similarities. We are not some neo-nazi like website devoted to pursuing some specific intolerant agenda. We're a bunch of people who take current events and point out things about them that are ludicrous, laughable, obvious, and stimulating, for our benefit and others. When we see injustice, we're angry and want to act, and we do.

We defy categorization and can't be accurately caricatured--which objective visitors here should see.

Boy oh boy, If a had a dollar for every time I heard that one. I think I posted not to long ago about the local diner waitress who strung that argument on me on international womyns day when I asked her when ours was. I still get the cold shoulder when I want my eggs and bacon every morning. Must piss her off to SERVE me.

Well complain, Nick! She isn't paid to judge or argue with customers - she is paid to accept their money & orders for food. By presenting you with an unearned cold-shoulder she is passing judgement on you as if she has the right and the room to do so. She has neither.

@Marx, I have to admit here, the cold shoulder may not be "unearned". I did not blatantly come out and call her a feminist, but pretty close. She may have taken offense. She sports an air of righteousness about her.

I found that rant of mine from march 2011,

I was at the local diner grabbing some grub, a guy I speak to sometimes there, well he goes all mangina to all the waitress's and say high and low, "happy womans day to all!". I freaked on his head and gave a good talking to. Where the fuck is your man's day, I say!! He just gawked at me, had absolutely no freakin clue where I was coming from. I was irate, red to the gills. Anyways, the waitress goes on to say we don't get one cuz it's been man's day, every day, for the past 100 years. That's when I snapped, I said to this cunt who has been serving my coffee and eggs for all of a year now, you wouldn't have a freakin job or that sylex in your hands or that fancy heater to fry my eggs with, if it wasn't for men. Most of the customers there are men going to work hard working jobs and rely on this diner to fill our bellies cuz you woman wanted a womans day and fucked the whole planet over for it. She lost it, slapped my coffee on the counter and had the other waitress finish my service.
I expect my next time in there, it will be fun, I don't think that waitress will be running to fill my cup, then again, the way I have seen most women go, the more you burn them, the more they come back for more, who know's maybe she will leave me her number next time, when she gets over my tirade.

My prediction of getting her number? Way off!!

Even if this WAS true, the logic wouldn't follow; why should men, TODAY, suffer for what men who are now dead, did? By using this logic, the feminists are exposed as hypocrites, no better than the men they accuse of oppressing women. Not to mention that it's not even true, to begin with....

As though only today's women are capable of standing up for themselves. As though only THEY can do something about it whereas for thousands of years, women have not been able to 'realise' the truth or had the intelligence to do something about their supposed suffering.

Feminists should stop being so demeaning to all those women who have struggled, rejoiced and suffered alongside their men for thousands of years. Thousands of years' of intelligent, capable, women who benefited from the protection and ingenuity of men just as those men benefited in so many ways from the women. Those women should be celebrated, not demeaned as though they were some pathetic, frail creatures who could not sort out their own balance of obligations and privileges.
