West Virginia: House passes bill to criminalize false child abuse reports
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- West Virginians could soon face criminal charges for falsely reporting child abuse or neglect to influence a custody case.
The House of Delegates voted 85-13 Wednesday to send the Senate a measure that would also slap any parent making a false report with a $1,000 fine or paying the other side's lawyer fees.
The misdemeanor crime would also carry a punishment of up to 60 hours of community service.
The bill is among the goals of groups that allege West Virginia treats fathers unfairly in awarding custody and child support. Lawmakers have debated the prevalence of false reporting.
Kanawha County Democrat and House Judiciary Chairwoman Carrie Webster said the bill was amended to ensure its provisions do not chill the reporting of actual abuse or neglect.

This is very good news and great progress for the MRM. I'm going to send this info to www.glennsacks.com. Since women aren't very interested in real news they will more than likely miss this story and make the courts rich.

"The House of Delegates voted 85-13 "
That is substantial. There must have been some pretty persuasive speeches considering the usual opposition from Feminazis.
This should be broadcast widely. It is encouraging.
Now how does that stack up against William Hetherington's sentence so far?carry a punishment of up to 60 hours of community service. When in need of a drink to fill the soul

Re: West Virginia: House passes bill to criminalize false child abuse reports
Yeah, I hope all goes well in the WV Senate, too.
Yeah, it's way too lenient of a penalty. But what I suspect will happen is that once more and more people (read women) are caught filing false child abuse in order to get custody and made to do the community service and pay the lawyer fees/$1000 fine, the penalty will worsen in subsequent legislation as the legislators realize that this is a really pervasive problem that needs to be stopped. Now how does that stack up against William Hetherington's sentence so far?

Re: West Virginia: House passes bill to criminalize false child abuse reports
Once it becomes a crime, even with a small penalty, a lieyer who advised and helped her to file a false accusation would be in danger of losing her lieyer license. The effect on divorce lieyers will probably be more important than on the lying ex's who are blinded by anger and hate.

This is encouraging news. Because when my husband's brother had primary custody of his two daughters, his ex-wife kept on calling Children's Services and making false allegations (we're in Ohio though). Naturally things came back unfounded. Still, people like this need to be discouraged from causing trouble in the first place.

Re: West Virginia: House passes bill to criminalize false child abuse reports
I'd imagine that it's ease in passing was aided by the fact that deterring false allegations will result in fewer total reports, thus helping stretch CS resources.
Children's Services have been something of a joke in the past 10 years. It is in the collective consciousness that they are all too often used as a sword. As long as the stigma remains that they are entirely too easily duped, in both directions, massive funding increases are politically dangerous. So, this will go a long way to returning credibility to an organization that started with the best of intentions, yet has been driven so far off track.
Makes me wonder if any feminist groups were actually stupid enough to fight this...

Re: West Virginia: House passes bill to criminalize false child abuse reports
CS "resources" need to stretch a good rope. The evil they do is beyond comprehension.
Not a "joke." There has been nothing at all funny about the massive destruciton of families and rampant hatred that CPS has done over the past decades. The lesbitches at CPS are pure evil.Children's Services have been something of a joke in the past 10 years. It is in the collective consciousness that they are all too often used as a sword. As long as the stigma remains that they are entirely too easily duped, in both directions, massive funding increases are politically dangerous.
Nope. There never was any "good intentions" to setting up feminiazi government funded agencies intended to destory families and children. The intentions began as abject evil and have continued to be incarnate evil. These agents of destruction must be eradicated from our communities. So, this will go a long way to returning credibility to an organization that started with the best of intentions, yet has been driven so far off track.
Indeed. It's a wonder that the feminists who work for the destrucoin of families weren't able to continue to promote free fire agaisnst fathers by their evil lesbitches in CPS. May they all meet their Satanic master.Makes me wonder if any feminist groups were actually stupid enough to fight this...

Re: West Virginia: House passes bill to criminalize false child abuse reports
Around here I've heard that lots of social workers are 20-something kids who haven't been married or had kids or anything.
I rather resent the idea of some child telling me, a 35-year-old married woman, how to raise my child!

Oh, and I should probably mention that the number of the bill is West Virginia HB 3065.

Re: West Virginia: House passes bill to criminalize false child abuse reports
Well it's passed the Senate now. It doesn't say by how many votes but it does say it passed it. And it says "completed legislative action", which I think means that the committees have all done their thing, so I suppose it'll be going to the governor any minute now. Let's hope he signs it.

Re: West Virginia: House passes bill to criminalize false child abuse reports
They just sent it to the governor now. It was the end of the legislative session and they just barely got it to the governor in time, but get it to him in time they did.
And now the governor has to sign it, because since it's the end of the legislative session if he vetoes it, it will automatically die. So he has to sign it in order for it to pass. Or if he doesn't sign it and doesn't veto it it will pass too.
