Thread: SLUTS/failure to act/double standards/why misandry still exists

I have no problem with Limbaugh calling names as it is free speech, but I didn't think that he knew that birth control pills has medicinal value such as regulating irregular menstruation, endometriosis, and decreasing extremely painful cramps--not just preventing pregnancy. I think he and the reactors got this out of hand. If the pill means sexual activity, is there any medication other than the pill that can regulate periods and relieve pain from cramping? I'm not trying to defend anyone but science.

Promiscuous is what it is and it is not calling names as such. The point that strikes me is: that as in the Slut Walks, females are free to revel in an image whilst they attack males who point it out. Birth Control even if abstinence can lead to sustainability I can endorse that concept.
Lindsey Lohan, Britney Spears both may be the cover girls for the bad girls set, assuming that the sex of female somehow automatically bestows some virtue the other sex does not have is sexist, and, I assert: a problematic point males have not successfully negotiated.
I should think many of us here have been in the halls of a high school or third form or university, we should all know that females are as sexually driven as males but we seem so ashamed of our maleness to realize that and perhaps that is why we are sometimes led about by the nose (or in other terms, some males become pussy whipped).
We all took note of and commented upon the Slut Walks, most of us are aware of Maury Povich and other popular television shows that daily illustrate the effects of promiscuity, we have noted books about young lads raised by abusive mothers, or who have been abandoned by their mothers, we watched the utube videos of self proclaimed slut advocates and the videos of females ashamed of those advocates.
Let a man speak about it publicly and we fail to defend them or even draw attention to the double standards and then we walk about led by the nose, whinnying over our plight…
…is that then not to say as long as we think we will get laid we will pay any price or suffer any amount of manipulation, and, most certainly not utter a comment…
…that is not being a man, that is not being a Father, and most certainly it is not being a valuable member of the community at large.
We suffer misandry only because we fail to or almost never speak against female perpetrated double standards…
…are we still carrying some implied guilt placed upon us by our mothers that restricts our free self image of ourselves as equal people on this planet?

we need to repost the slut walk material across the net, send it to our friends, let others know girls have already been doing this, let females deal with the double standard that once apparent will look at least like a blunder on their part.

I understand your point that there's a hypocrisy on women's part for pointing out that Limbaugh is saying something that needs to be heard, but that's not my point. I understand that promiscuity is promiscuity is promiscuity. Perhaps 'calling names' is the wrong phrase to use--forgive me. I'm not attacking him at all--I do agree with some of the stuff he says, but I'm afraid that he doesn't research his claims to give out accurate information. He is calling her out on her 'actions' that we may or may not know about, but how do we know if she had multiple sexual partners? She may have used it for non-sexual reasons. I'm all for removing promiscuity, and that the Sl*tWalks are a complete waste of time as Sl*tWalks will only backfire in the future. I don't like to have something as bad as that word as a good term. It has a bad connotation for a reason. We shouldn't be proud of our promiscuity, male or female. However, to assume that BCs=Promiscuity is not 100% correct. I hope to see contraceptives for males so that the reproductive power can balance out (and they can have the power to choose) and they could help out on male reproduction. What I am asking is: Is there any way to use medication for painful cramps (so much so that a woman can't move), irregular periods, endometriosis, and so forth? Abstinence and aspirins can't help those, since we don't know what caused these things.

You obsess rigidly with a small parameter of issues which effect men, while ignoring more important core issues?

You are currently still technically a moderator and I believe your personal politics are leaving the AM membership wanting in reaffirming it's modern thrusting identity. Replaying a tired and archaic theme is not conducive to new recruits joining the movement towards better things, just reinforcing outdated stereotypes.
