Females Will Never Lie about being Raped Down Under Either?

A 17-year-old former Perth Catholic schoolboy is free after nearly a year in prison awaiting trial on rape charges of which he was acquitted after it emerged that his accuser had lied about her sex life.

Perth Now reports that Patrick Waring, then a 15-year-old Catholic college student, was dragged out of bed by police a year ago and refused bail on the say-so of his 17-year-old accuser.

However, just before the trial started, the girl admitted lying about her sex life the whole time, Perth Now says.

She had insisted she was a virgin.

DNA tests excluded Waring from her claims of rape.

Waring's accuser finally admitted she had had sex with a man at the back of a cinema the same afternoon, two hours before claiming Waring raped her at Joondalup's Central Park after following her from the railway station on 30 March last year.

She also admitted to having been in a sexual relationship with her boyfriend at the time.

The girl's new story included being raped by two different men in two hours.

She said the cinema sex with a 20-year-old, who she had met on the internet, was rape, but she didn't want him charged because it might affect her compensation claim.

The girl had previously lied to interviewing officers, the Sexual Assault Resource Centre doctor who examined her and to prosecutor Amanda Forrester.

Waring was originally denied bail when a police officer told the Children's Court that Waring had phoned the girl and threatened her - a fact the police later admitted was wrong.

Patrick's father, Terry Waring, said his family had been torn apart for a year. His and his wife's belief in the justice system had been shattered."Shoddy work, cruelty and seeming vindictiveness cost us our house, financial security and a lifetime of savings for a three-week trial," he said.

"The emotional cost to the family has been incalculable. Personally, I have not cried as much since my brother was killed in Vietnam.""It's the finish of school for Patrick," Mr Waring said.

"He's lost virtually all of Year 11 and the start of Year 12 and he's had to grow up very fast. He lost his youth in there."We didn't tell anyone at school what had happened to him. He just disappeared. And now we couldn't send him back there to face the ramifications of this."

Patrick's 24-year-old brother, Michael, also lost a year of study for his degree in computer science and information systems because of the ordeal.

Thats not even the kicker in this case. This girl had her anonymity protected even after this lad was acquitted. She was 19 at the time and skipped off into the sunset while this lads family lost their home. Shes free to giggle and do this again and she is totally protected. Not one official once pulled her up on her lies and inconsistency. She went from a virgin to being raped twice on the same day by two different people.
Theres a support fund set up for the family for those willing to give more than sympathies to this lads family.

Canada is the same-The real criminal's are protected,the innocent are hung out to the social outrage just because of the accusation-This happens way to much.

I will need to check with work on Monday, but you should get it on Google easily enough. This is such a touching story and when I watched it upset me greatly. Once his dad began to cry the torrents were unleashed. This was a good lad, he was a good boy and he did nothing wrong. He found her "cute" and asked for her phone number and that was it. She lied and she lied and she lied. To watch his familys finances fall apart and yet they did not waver once in supporting him, never even contemplated anything other that total innocence. As a mother with a son to raise i'm terrified and for me this girl is the devil incarnate. What really gets me my blood boiling is she MAY not even think she done wrong. Why should she? she wasn't punished, this didn't affect her in the slightest and it makes me foam at the mouth.

Boys have few rights. Sometimes none. Girls have nigh-limitless rights and entitlements. That's what I meant earlier, Amr.

A proactive solution would be to publicize such cases. NO teenager shouldn't be spending an entire school year in prison without bail, with zero evidence of wrongdoing. They shouldn't have their lives shattered at a whim with no justice in return.

Male or female, there's something incredibly wrong that this occurred. This is only a child, and his parents, and their family. That's royally fucked up. He hasn't even made his way into full adulthood and has been presumed by the government to be a sexual criminal based on a lie with no backing. A KID JUST SPENT MORE THAN A FUCKIN YEAR IN PRISON BASED ON A CONVINCING SOB STORY. Her word - and her word alone - held the legal right and power to do this. And she's still entitled to anonimity after her lie is discovered. No repercussions, shit, they may as well grant formally women the right to imprison men at will. Seriously, what the fuck?

He stood prepping himself to take that pivotal step in every young mans life, when he plucks up the courage and asks a girl out for the first time. He got her number, chatted and his brother picked him up. Im betting that as 15 yo lad he was well chuffed that he got the courage to ask her. Told his brother all about it.
