The problem lies with the rape shield laws. A lawyer, judge, etc.. can know all about a womans past regarding false criminal complaints and investigations as that stuff would be on record but they can't touch it.

I think you are right, Garak, the problem are the rape sheild laws. I do believe that a woman's sexual history should be out of the playing field and that is what the laws are for, ostensibly. Practicaly, however, they do nothing more than make it harder for the accused to defend themselves from a false accuastion.

Well, the crime is perjury so she should get the amount of time that people get for perjury. Also, a woman's sexual history should be brought up if it is any relevant to the case.

If you want a flase rape accuser to get the same amount of time as the man for rape, then people lying in murder trials should get the same amount as a murderer and so on.

The lawyer isn't the guardian of an underage girl or boy. I mean, it is unethical, but the lawyer isn't responsible for the acts of other people. It's not like they tell people that they won't go to jail if caught, he just presents all the solutions. Still, if I owned a lawyer firm, I would fire people who actively encourage people to lie.
