Why Were The Iraq Wars a load of Bollucks?

Why Were The Iraq Wars a load of Bollucks?

So there you go AKUUS, Percy Popadibs, Meadester, Ohso and nut job Julie, I invite you all to this nice new string to offload you issues.(I hope I haven’t missed or wrongly added any names on that list) I haven’t been playing much attention to what your all saying on the remembrance string, but if I got the general gist of it then you all got a lot to say about sort of questions below.

    · Is it a shocking disgrace the we sent our men to die for that bollocks or not?

    · What is the real motive for those wars?

    · Was it really all the ruling elites doing, or are people forgetting how grossly tribal the American civilian population generally appeared on global media then? Are we forgetting how much people appeared to be consumed with a sense of vengeance; or was it shock and awe? I know what it wasn’t; it wasn’t the awesome might and resources of our leading nation actually getting the top man responsible for 9-11 was it?

The whole things just one fucking game to so many people.

So you want to talk about how rotten we’ve all become and why, instead of simply remembering those we sent to kill and got killed, in our name; then you can now do it here.

    · Oh; and for a side interest you can also wax on about how America betraying the old British Empire, is such a tragedy to all of human culture and future destiny.

I decided to keep posting on the "Veteran's Day" post since I don't want to create too many threads on this topic and sow confusion about who said what where. In a broad sense our discussion there has at least as much to do with Veteran's Day as about the Iraq War.

Don't take any criticism of the title personally, though. I know you were doing what you thought was right. If any of the others want to post here I'll respond to them here, though I might refer back to the Veteran's Day post to put it in context.

I’m happy to change the title to say, “The motives of recent wars, and the impertinence of American independence,” or whatever you guys want it to say.

How about "Motives Behind War"? It's short, general, and to the point.

It seems I can’t change this title and I have now grown weary of asking posters to develop a separate and appropriate string.

You are more than welcome to start a new string with a title that suits most people. I have read and understood your reasons for continuing to post, what I feel are irrelevant is distracting posts on the Veterans Day string.

“Anyway, I'll post my responses here since you say its OK, CD, and Kim has not objected”.

What interpretation would you give for this: "AKUUS makes some very good points of about war and government....but, to be completely honest, and please don't take this the wrong way, I rather wish you would have started a seperate thread instead of posting them here".... which are Kim’s comments form: http://antimisandry.com/equal-but-di...tml#post184074

I forgot about that. Still, what Celtic Druid said holds true. I think that thread may be winding down anyway. I told Percy he could have the last word on the American Revolution and no one has posted on war in general since Saturday. I will apologize to Kim though.

Well forgetting is easy enough to do I suppose.

As for Percy’s view on the American Revolution; he tends to have a rather.......‘personal’ attachment to what he seems to consider as the Great unforgivable Mutiny. If you want my advice, just don’t engage on the subject – reason won’t be viable. But on the other hand, his somewhat bizarre legendary regard for England can be entertaining in certain ga-ga moods.

You got to understand that half of us are a bit zippy without a full jar of marbles in this place.

That is a much better title.

I don't know that 'unforgivable' is the appropriate word, TFB. I wasn't there and no harm was done to me so I am not called upon to forgive.

There are several schools of thought in Historical circles ragarding the Revolutionary War, so I can hardly lay claim to it being just my view.

As for Iraq, to many counties, their leaders and general populations, the Iraqi invasion seemed a good idea at the time. The intent was seemingly 'good', but there is a favourite adage I have - 'No good deed goes unpunished'.

It certainly turned into a complete mess.
