Open Question: Why do capitalist say that socialism doesnt work, and point to the fall of 20th century communism as an example?

It's a mistake to think of the failed communism of the 20th century as true socialism. Instead of bringing prosperity to all, the Soviet system imposed a harsh "equality" through authoritarian rule that was no more sustainable than unregulated capitalism, and no more just.he essence of socialism is the spirit of community and commonality within a society -the desire to ensure equal opportunities for all in education, health care, employment, and essential social services. In most developed nations, aside from the United States, health care is available for all residents, and universal care costs far less than our stingy system that offers care for only those who can afford exorbitant fees, while allowing insurance bureaucrats to maximize shareholder profits by denying care to the insured.
