In Islam, a child's religion is determined by what the father is. In Judaism it is the other way (matrilineal).

The problem is not so much that Obama is a Muslim, but that he lied when he said he NEVER was one. His school records from Indonesia clear state that his religion is "Islam". School friends from Indonesia also said he was one of the best students when it came to memorizing portions of the Quran.

That's what I read...it's like how Jewish people say that if the Mom is Jewish then so are the kids. I understand that his Dad was Muslim and he practiced occasionally. This is interesting in that Obama denies it yet others says it's true. Does Obama feel that a Muslim background is a problem? Is that why he denies it? Or are others making things up. All I can say is that the press frequently gives Obama a free pass. And way more positive coverage than some other candidates.
