note that she isn't going to stand for leader of the labour party. so much for women's ambition. There would be nothing stopping her standing for leader, so just goes to show that she mustn't feel she is up for the stresses and strains of the top job and instead will make do with a temporary shift where she won't really be accountable for anything. Giving power back to the people? If that ever happens there will be riots in the streets because everyone will want their own ideas to prevail. The government's job is to amalgamate all those differences in one sole issue and to put it to the vote of the people. The power never lies with the people, even when they use their right to vote, because they have to accept whatever is on offer.

The only way the people can have the power is through a revolution, and even then, they have to follow their revolutionary leaders, e.g. Stalin, Castro. Mao Tse Tung, and the likes.

Still, the present democracy, as imperfect as it may be, is better than all other systems already tried and failed.
