    The Fall of the Republic

I wonder, what kind of idiot would take someone serious and implement the policies of the person who says this:
Isn't it the only hope for civilization for the planet that the industrialized nations collapse? Isn't it our responsibility to bring that about?

And by the way, this person is the founder of the EU environmental program. It is sad though that the people who made the video put a lot of people who are clueless in it and ruin the image of the others.

And Glass Steagall was idiotic. The problem is that other regulations created tons of moral hazards and they had to be done with too.

Re: The Fall of the Republic

The iron law of oligarchy is a political theory, first developed by the German syndicalist sociologist Robert Michels in his 1911 book, Political Parties. It states that all forms of organization, regardless of how democratic or autocratic they may be at the start, will eventually and inevitably develop into oligarchies. The reasons for this are the technical indispensability of leadership, the tendency of the leaders to organize themselves and to consolidate their interests; the gratitude of the led towards the leaders, and the general immobility and passivity of the masses.

Biblical or not, there are suggestions that it's simply inevitable, almost a natural progression especially if the masses don't keep check on their governments or made to sleep by them so they can't.
