England Burns: Police to use rubber bullets on kids?

On my way out of the supermarket I saw a headline in the daily Independent that the British PM has authorised the use of rubber bullets on mainland Britain - for the first time in history.

So:
1/The police are to use rubber bullets against the 9,10,11 year old kids that the media tell us are the center of the "looting"?

2/Parents are not allowed to smack their kids, but the state can use rubber bullets against them?

Lets remember this started with the shooting of a FATHER in london and then the police tried to frame him, saying that he shot first - yet the alleged bullet shot was that from a police gun! The Indpendent Police Complaints Commission signalled that a cover-up was takig place as the Inquiry into the death was "adjurned" until December.

The media are talking a lot about "looting", those more alert will notice that the attacks and petrol bombing of police stations are rarely mentioned. Last night 40 men (not kids!) attacked and burned a police station.

It is amazing to note, that here in Wales, Cardiff, fro where I write is just 20 miles from Merthyr Tydfil - the "Benefits Capital" of the UK - yet not disturbances are in Wales - nor in Scotland.

I see new employment opportunities. The Met will have to establish a 'Rubber Bullet Collection & Recycling Squad'.

Equal opportunity for minorities and women, of course, with the usual balancing unequal ones for white chaps.

All this and I hear there is to be a question asked in Parliament about the recharging of police tasers. It seems they are currently being charged without using electricity from the new UKP 23Billion wind farm in Scotland. Something to do with the length of the wires.

Guns, rubber bullets are a big no-no, for me that is a declaration of the state declaring war on the citizens - esp in UK. AND LETS US NOT FORGET ALL THIS TROUBLE STARTED WITH THE SHOOTING OF AN INNOCENT FATHER. So the police's answer is to starting shooting more people to distract attention from their original crime?

Tasers - hmm, thats OK as an alternative to guns or rubber bullets

Water Cannon - that's OK - been hit with a water cannon while in eastern europe, and live to tell the tale. In fact I was one of the last people to be hit by water canon in Poland when it was last used in '91 !
