Canadian Goverment talking about ending anti-male & anti-white descrimination (syg)

    in hiring for government jobs!

The Canadian government currently hires women in preference over men, even though women already hold 57% of government jobs. They call this "diversity" hiring or employment "equity".

Also, a Pakistani right off the plane has a better chance of landing a plum government job than a white man who was born and raised here in Canada.

    http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/tories-take-aim-at-employment-equity/article1649115/

Vote in the online poll if you like. 80% of people agree that the current policy needs to be reviewed.

The woman who applied for the job is Sara Landriault, an Ottawa-area blogger and mother.

“The question was my race and gender, I answered white and the application as a whole stopped and said I did not meet the criteria for this position,” Ms. Landriault said in an e-mail Thursday. “I do not wish to take anyone’s job, my only wish was to be allowed to apply based on my qualifications. No government should have the right to ask you your race or gender to see if you are qualified for a job. That is discrimination.”
    Hello !

Did she say anything before when men didn't meet the criteria?

When any man was turned away or never even got into an interview, did she shout 'Hey, that's discrimination'?

When men got priority (in that mythical past) women cried, 'That's discrimination. It's wrong'. But when the women recieved 'Positive' preference, well, that was OK. And not only that but they rubbed men's faces in it.

The move came in response to the story of a Caucasian woman who tried to apply for an administrative assistant’s job in the federal ministry of Citizenship and Immigration, only to find the competition was restricted to aboriginals and members of a visible minority. Such a practice is permitted under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and is intended to help government meet diversity hiring targets.
That's government for you. You take sexist and racist policies and dress them up and give them a special name (affirmative action) and it magically becomes a good policy. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms? What about the right to not be judged based on the color of your skin or what's between your legs? What about the freedom to apply for any job and having the chance to be reviewed in a fair and just process?

Of course this discriminatory policy must be reviewed. Everyone who applies for a job should be chosen based on their skills, experience, education and meeting the job requirements.
The job hiring proces should never be influenced or decided based on a person's ethnicity or gender whatsoever.

If, in fact, this is really you....

You state on your blog; "“The situation has just left me feeling let down,” Landriault told QMI. “I can’t believe this is happening in 2010.”"

    Hmmmmm

You can't believe that this is happening in 2010 eh? Take a look around you. IT has been happenening to men for the last 40 years! and although I feel your frustration, I have a hard time sympathizing with you. You just happen to be one step below on the "preferred candidate" ladder - yet one or two ABOVE the non-preferred... IE. White male. We need to remove this preferred garbage alltogether.

I know I may be coming off a little mean but it is always the way... for white males. A white het man gets treated this way an noone gives a shit. This happens to you, normally a preferred candidate (based upon what's between your legs) over men, and you lost because of your skin color...

What happens? You get tens of interviews and everyone and their mother suddenly asking what is wrong with this system....

Welcome to the world of "affirmative action". Quite affirming isn't it?

Sara, (#5) I have read your blog. I see you have given men some reference.

There is one more thing I do want to ad though.

A lot of men are emailing me and saying "welcome to our world", for years they have been pushed out because they are 'white males'.

We have all seen the ads in the government jobs, and know they were discriminated against but why have the media not gone bonkers over it like they did with my case.
A good question and good of you to put it there.

Maybe you can ask it again when interviewed on radio or TV.

    Good luck.

I voted Yes on the poll as well.

If Canada can end the anti-male shit, then that will help send messages to USA and other countries.

It is against the law to hire someone, just based on ethnicity or gender.

I should be hired for my skills, education and what I can bring to the table. Not because I am just a woman. I want to earn my place and respect, not just given to me.

I pray that it does follow through.

I think if men and women start protesting, there would be more support and might help sway their minds.

57% of government jobs. They call this "diversity" hiring or employment "equity".

Also, a Pakistani right off the plane has a better chance of landing a plum government job than a white man who was born and raised here in Canada.

57% seems quite low... I would say its more like 90% women in government... and men (mangina/indian/pakistani) holding the other 10%.

It's a fact around here that if you are a woman/gay/lesbian/minority you get a job over an educated white male. I have no allegiance to my country whatsoever as it has no allegiance to me. Just one more reason to expat. (I was actually having this conversation with my parents today)
