Nah, I just can't keep a straight face ...... now if he'd said something like "n****r's have an extra bone in their ankle, an' that's why they're good at runnin' an stuff" then I could understand the outrage but as it is I don't see anything remotely offensive in what he said.

Oh dear, I must be out of touch with the times again. I thought "coloured" was the in-description of persons with negroid genes. I must be getting confused with the USA (oh, no, they currently use "African American" as though there are no people in the country from Africa but with pale skin), or maybe France (OK, so there it's 'couleur') since "peau noire" (black skin) is now an offence there.

For goodness sake, it's about time people learnt not to be offended. Call me black, white, pink, blue, coloured or colourless .. why should I care?

I distinctly recall a time when the term "coloured" was not considered offensive but was actually a definition meaning "not of white ancestry"..

I remember reading books at school that talked (respectfully) of "coloured" south african business men..

I find that to be very offensive! I'm offended that you would get offended by people who get offended when no offense is intended to offend. I think its offensively offensive, and now my whole night will be wasted feeling offensive over being offensively offended, even if your offense was not meant to offend.

The question these 'offended' people must ask themselves is; does it help your case when you make a fuss about such a trivial slip of the tongue by, let's face it, a mere ex-footballer?
