That was extremely hard to watch.

My questions are who in the hell is holding the camera? Why are they not jumping in?

It is hard to listen to the child cry while watching her smack the kid again and again. I had to stop it after the second or third smack of her hand. I just couldn't bear anymore.

The next person who writes another misandric men-are-abusers should be made to watch this video again and again until the finally get the message - child abuse is not a gender issue. Even if women, the primary caretakers of children, commit more child abuse and sexual abuse of children than men do, it is wrong no matter who does it.

Exactly.

Like domestic violence, child abuse shouldn't become a gender issue, otherwise an effective universal remedy will never be forthcoming. That said, unlike men, there still remains a prevailing exculpatory attitude in society for women abusing children. And uncomfortable as it is to watch, such videos are useful in dispelling the notion that either all women are 'good mothers' and if they do transgress angelic behaviour, then some excuse beyond normal human failings must be attributed.

I saw a feature some time ago of assaults by child carers, minders what ever when mom and dad went out !

one slapped the baby full on the face and the other picked up the baby and threw it into the cot

the outrage was caught on security video installed by suspicious parents ! I guess they were alarmed at the traumatic symptoms of the baby after they returned but no doubt were supplied with convincing lies by the nannya picture is worth a tonne of lies to the contrary

Absolutely. Like so many of societies' problems, pretending that it is a problem unique to one group alone - whether it's male/female, Christian/Moslem, White/Black, etc. - often just makes the overall situation worse.

To set the record straight, all the reliable statistics I have seen from many countries show that women abuse children more in almost all categories of abuse except sexual. In sexual abuse, men are worse. Overall, women abuse children about three times as much as men; if adjusted for the proportion of single-parent households and time spend away from home working, women abuse children about twice as much as men.

Nevertheless, just because women are worse is no excuse to make it a gender issue. Both sexes abuse and it is a social problem that must be addressed as such.
