Smile What kind of music do you like?

I like... blues, rock, punk, hardcore punk, queercore, metal*(especially doom, black, and death, but I like it all), grindcore, metalcore, folk, and opera.

*Metal is like therapy. That is all.

A bit of gothic rock, psychobilly, some industrial rock that isnt too machine like/screechy (carfax abbey), some older glam metal, a bit of horror punk, satire, and some synthrock

Currenlty I am mostly listening to end of an era, a bit by the chop tops, the gravetones, always on the 69 eyes

    Queercore?

I used to say usually Metal, but somehow nowadays it is mostly pop-music. Stuff in the radio that I like.
The men's and fathers' movement needs to make sure it never sees females as the enemy,

If not, we'll become like the bigoted feminists that this movement was formed to oppose.

Caff, nothing you mentioned is 'music' apart from the Blues. The rest is just noise.

I would rather listen to the howl of a Vulcan as it starts its take-off run. Now THAT's a noise.

Re: What kind of music do you like?

Too much, plus I get confused by the way young people talk music. I mean what's all this? What's the musical, compositional difference between rock and metal, let alone doom metal, black metal, death metal, etc? Isn't all metal just machine-gun-drums wall-off-noise guitar and some guy going 'raaawrrssssffffGGT!' or sometimes you get those guys with the loud screechy fag voices 'ieeeeaaaaachiiaaashhffffff,' and that's the whole genre. Are these just clever names? It's all rock (bad rock, good rock, some loud, some not so loud) that's how I see it. Then again the difference between rock and blues is so small it's hardly worth talking about - ninety percent of rock musicians who can play more than five chords rely almost exclusively on scales you find in blues. I guess it makes more sense in that light to say it's all blues.

Good guitar is generally what pleases me. That's a fairly large area. Good sound and technical artistry don't always intersect, but they generally do (although they sometimes don't) I mean, Jimmy Hendrix? No, sorry, I don't think he's any good, oh technically yes very skilled but the finished product, nothing special. Good for impressing fifteen year olds who listen and go 'hurrrr,' because it sounds fast and complicated, and ok, yes, it is very complicated. No soul though.

Better. Maybe it doesn't sound that complicated but if you tried to play like that with those pickups/strings, etc, trying to reproduce that tone you might work for years just to produce something that doesn't sound like fuzzy gibberish.

Most talented musician to ever come from the world of popular music (Zappa) but, also an MRA lesson here. This is how much manipulative women can fuck up a good thing (good song, great band... get her off the stage, please, somebody! Unplug her mike, shoot her, whatever! Just shut her up!)

I agree DS, way to many labels to a grouping of music. And what is queer core?.
I like the old stuff, such Judas Priest, AC/DC, Maiden, Metallica, Megadeath, Primus. These bands usually accompany me and wrench turning.
On the road I like David Guetta, The Crystal Method, Dan Desnoyers, Eminem, Kiss, The Four Horsemen, Cold Play.
At home I like Santana, Joe Satriani, Johnny Lang, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Stevie Vai, Miles Davis.

agree with Dad about the blues being the basis for most rock, listen to some of the old 12 bar blues men like Taj mahal, BB king etc and they are technically and musically superb.

a chap i really like is Colin Hay (men at work) some of his solo stuff is excellent.
