Here's a rather interesting video I happened to see last night on YouTube. Having lost a brother to suicide, this really hit home: Cheers, Mike. "I am most anxious to enlist everyone who can speak or write to join in checking this mad, wicked folly of 'Women's Rights', with all its attendant horrors, on which her poor feeble sex is bent, forgetting every sense of womanly feelings and propriety. Feminists ought to get a good whipping. Were woman to 'unsex' themselves by claiming equality with men, they would become the most hateful, heathen and disgusting of beings, and would surely perish without male protection." -- Queen Victoria, 1870. | ||||

Well sorry to hijack this topic but I have some songs about lost loving ones in my backhand....(good Song btw and my condolence to you (probably translated incorrectly)) Funeral For A Friend - Roses For The Dead 4Lyn - Husky Those 2 songs were about suicides of friends. I really like the Video Roses for the Dead. It really makes you sad. The next song is put together about loosing a son if I remember correctly its a really heavy song with some soul in it Soulfly - Tree of Pain The screaming starts at about 02:00. Quote:

I found out yesterday that my dad Richard Hastings died Saturdat at 5 am The news was delivered to me via e-mail from an uncle It said "Rik died Saturday at 5 am" and that was it my uncle wouldn't even spell my dads name right. I don't know how he died or anything. He and I were not very close because my mom felt that I she didn't need a man to raise her kids as she has pointed out to me repeatedly. But I do remember my dad coming around some times and we would go do something. This probably occured once or twice a year until I was 11 or so. My father I think tried to be there for me but due to my mom's attitude and his own drug addiction I think it made it hard for him to do so.

The reason I posted the video in the first place, was because Shaun Morgan, the lead singer of Seether in the video also lost his younger brother to suicide. I used to be called by my younger brother at all hours of the morning, with him in a drugged up state, most times he had a sympathetic ear, but that started to wear off, after 12 months of this going on. I took 3 weeks off from work to go down to Dunedin (200km away from here) and actually managed to get him off the drugs. (Don't get me wrong, I know what it is like to be addicted to a substance, as I have had long battles with alcohol abuse myself) 4 weeks later a police officer wanted me to come down and ID his body, he had hung himself. You might as well have tore my guts out from within me, with a blunt knife. I've still never recovered from his death. ![]() Suicide is a nasty thing, it leaves you feeling what you could have done to prevent it, anything you think, is a dead-end. It is all hind-sight. What that video expresses, I think, is the fact that when you take your own life, the people you leave behind, die also, to a degree. "I am most anxious to enlist everyone who can speak or write to join in checking this mad, wicked folly of 'Women's Rights', with all its attendant horrors, on which her poor feeble sex is bent, forgetting every sense of womanly feelings and propriety.
