Rand is, by far, my favorite author. My favorite quote from
Atlas Shrugged, which I have memorized, is this:

I like the above quote because it refutes the idea that morality is socially contrived. It says that if you know something to be immoral or wrong, then it is you who must avoid doing that thing even if society says that it is not wrong. The above quote lets you feel free to follow your conscience in self-regulation, and reject the idea that if the group tolerates something, it's OK for you too.
