Well I didn´t want to post it in the 80 threads because those guys (Marillion) are too special for me. Probably some of you guys here probably from England know them too.

Here is one of my favorite songs a political statement and a weird but great performance....(you have to see fishs suicide at the end of the video)

I guess a lot of you only know "Kayleigh" which was really there only known hit. Really makes me said because most of the songs on that albums were far better.

But watch this.....and this 10 minute piece of music is really more like a (progressive) rock opera. Bands today would make 10 songs out of that one....but judge for yourself

I am not used to CDs anymore. As I nowadays listen more to music on Youtube. That changed a few days ago as I put in some old albums. And I really enjoyed it. Listening to songs I haven´t heard in a decade I remembered how great some albums were. This is the song I had in mind. Sadly this is one of the live version and I really prefer cd version:


What I like about this band back then is the creativity they put in those songs. Usually the CDs had like 6-7 songs on it each between 7-9 minutes and almost no song structure. We are nowadays so used to this 3 minute "verse-chorus-verse-chorus-chorus" structure it was refreshening listen to songs where you could easily made 4-5 songs under nowadays standard.

When listening to this I noticed some of the lyrics. Most of it is really hard to understand even if you are no foreigner:

And I really like the poetic discriptions in some. For example I really would like to see a post like "My men/women went out with his boys/girls and left his wedding ring here. What should I do" to use the Marillion line "Set the wedding rings dancing on the cold linoleum". Brilliant.

I was thinking to turn some lyrics into some MRA stuff but its probably to far out there:

It came to mind because of the white feather sending feminists of the past. Ah well....

What I found amazing as well is the amount of people still playing this 80s songs. Marillion guitar gives you 144 youtube videos....lets see
