ArgusEyes is building up quite a selection of anti-feminist videos now. He does some good work.

A fine example of how the advent of cheap technology allows us to press our message home to an ever widening audience.

I noticed earlier today that one of his videos has now been viewed over 38,000 times, which is quite amazing.

Now that's effective activism.

I was disgusted with this video by Jessica Valenti when I first saw it. But I think that in his response, Argue eyes has fallen into a few traps.
First of all he needs to acknowledge that enphasising and drawing attention to the fact that women in other counties have it worse, really is a RED HERRING. We do not want to rely on this weak "well it could be worse" juxtapositioning since it could in principle be used to justify any gross injustice against women. Unfortunately he has confirmed Jessica Valentis assertion that we (the other side) are relying on fallacious arguments, and he gives the impression that he has totally missed the point. The fact is that it is a great deal easier and more worth while to attempt to influence politics over here, than it is in the middle east and elsewhere in the world. Since an anti-feminist is more likely to be concerned with domestic issues, the argument that priority should be given to issues that only effect women in other countries where it is needed more is disingenuous when it comes from an anti-feminist. Also I agree with argueeyes about the dishonest and misleading tactics that she uses, but he should have backed it up, rather than just offering his opinion. Also, he didnt have to say "you stupid girl" over and over, he could have just exposed and drawn attention to the evidence of her stupidity and explained the rational errors that she has made, and why they are unnacceptable.
If you just look at the comments on her Jessica's you can see how they are unanimously hyper-supportive and therefore useless as criticism (except in the cosmetic sense). It bugs me that there is this protectoinist attitude against real opinions and conflicting ideas which feminists like her encourage without any shame. I posted well though out comments on her video, but of course they will never be shown, since they would have make her look stupid. Shame on her!

I agree that mentioning the position of women in the middle east is taking away the emphasis of western women (in this case North American women) to prove their own claim of being oppressed. It then plays right into the feminist trap of allowing them to dictate the debate, and positions the MRA into defensive mode.

Western feminists love to trot out the misrepresented depiction of "all" middle eastern women as being oppressed (aren't many men also?) because they don't have a viable argument in their own back yard that will sustain the rigours of rational debate.

That is why western feminists have to 'import' the "supposed" oppression of women in far off lands, who they really couldn't give a damn about, to fortify their increasingly feeble arguments at home.
