    If Momma Ain't Happy

OK, folks, here is the latest from Percy, Christian J and myself. I think it is pretty good, but having had my head squarely in making it for the last two days, I can't be sure. All thoughts are appreciated. And as always, if you like it, please go to the site and pump it up.

I am eager to see it. I am sure it is going to be a good one again.

I wait upon the good offices of Christian J !

Yep, 511 is really good. I tracked the views on many of the MRM vids and the length of time they have been running.

We have every reason to be happy with these results.

I also noticed that those that post the most videos ultimately have the most views per video and the best placement in many cases.

Time to fire up that mic again, Sir Percy.

Gentlemen, this is truly another outstanding production: 5/5 stars. Everything was first rate: writing, narration, photos, video, etc.

The Wages of Spin is now at 532. I just rewatched "If Momma Ain't Happy". It's simply brilliant. You guys could not have done more in 10 minutes, which is probably the average modern attention span. It's 10 minutes of captivating material, perfectly written, organized, narrated, and accompanied by imagery.

I sent this out to a bunch of people on my e-mail lists too. In watching this again, I reflected on my own family. I would have to say, though my mother has her faults, my father is the emotional terrorist in my family.

I could not have written a better review, AKUUS. Not that that should stop anyone else trying.

I am humbled and very pleased it hits the mark.

Thank you, Sir. And I hope evryone follows your example and emails the URLs to all on their email contact list.

By the way folks. You know how sometimes you get unsolicited emails with funnies and wotnot, which seem to be sent by an aquaintance but who is also sending it to dozens of others? Those other email addresses often end up in your 'contacts' list. People you don't know.

Great opportunity for using those addresses !

Is there any way to make it so that both of your videos are linked on youtube, meaning when someone is viewing one the other will be in the sidebar? As it is now, you have to search for them separately.

    Re: If Momma Ain't Happy

I think it's all too easy for women who are already controlling or manipulative before marriage and children, to become even more so afterward. Home, family, and children have historically been a "woman's domain" and this is still true today. Women who are emotional terrorists will thrive in this domain. They really do see themselves as queens of the castle and expect that they are right in their view. They expect complete unquestioned compliance in regard to all matters that pertain to the home, family life, and children, and they extend this to include finances while justifying this by aggressively pointing out that *only they* know best what the family needs in order to thrive. They leave no room for counter-opinions or discussions on most (if not all) domestic matters.

Maybe these types of women really do see themselves as superior in the matters described above. Some undoubtedly do, and refuse to see when they are wrong. Others may actually be insecure- fearing that anything less than total control would mean certain abandonment or utter chaos or crises.

And still others may have no insight whatsoever into their own behavior or may have mental health issues that lend to the problem. Some may be histrionic (may have a personality disorder: borderline, histrionic, narcissistic, or sociopathic, or heaven help us a combination thereof). They might be bi-polar, or seriously depressed, or have OCD or any number of other mental health conditions that may affect their behavior. Some may drink or use drugs, or take prescribed medications that alter their behavior/judgment. There are countless ways a woman (or a man) might sabotage (knowingly or unknowingly) family harmony and peace.

Emotional terrorists, to me, are generally difficult people. They can be men or women, but women, in the role of housewife, mother, are in a domain that is conducive to their terrorism. They may thrive here because they can...right up until the family is destroyed. And some will persist even afterward....causing chaos well into the future. Some will not give up their controlling behavior even after there is little left to control. They will find ways- often through the manipulation of children and father's rights. The most extreme emotional terrorist can damage and destroy relationships so badly that there is little chance of repair.

How best to deal with the emotional terrorist is a question that is not answered in the video above. You can't reason with irrationality. You can't win a power struggle with someone who has the law and society on their side. (Of course you can try-- and maybe some will prevail in such a struggle. But by observation, it seems not many.) So how does one avoid finding themselves in such a marriage?

The only way I can see to avoid it isn't foolproof (nothing is): but you can purposefully take your time getting to know the person you are thinking about marrying and having a family with. Six months is not nearly long enough. If you are in close contact with someone for at least two years, chances are you're going to see that person in nearly every possible scenario that matters: when they are angry, when they are frustrated, when they are idle, when they are busy..you'll observe this person's daily routine, you'll get to know their goals. You'll see their strengths as well as their faults and quirks. You'll get a glimpse into their histories. You'll get to know their friends and their family members. If you're wise, you'll pay attention to what you learn and you will think about it, before you marry, before you start a family.

Until then....be ultra careful. If you're going to have sex, use birth control. Don't trust something so huge to someone else. Make sure you protect yourself even if she says she's using the pill. Why gamble with the rest of your life? Take charge. If she doesn't like it, screams and yells, demands that you do things her way- and insists that you don't trust her- you're likely dealing with an emotional terrorist. A woman who cares about your life concerns would not make you feel bad for protecting yourself. She would understand and support this.

And remember- what you see for the first year or more in a relationship is what the other person wants you to see, not what is necessarily real. We all want to impress those we date. We put on our best clothes, our best behavior, we hide our faults (to the best of our ability) while playing up our strengths. This is not evil, it's human nature. Everyone does this, consciously and unconsciously. It takes a lot of time to get to know someone well enough to see their defenses come down and their real selves come through.

Percy, Paul, Christianj- you did a great job on the video. It demonstrates pretty well what an emotional terrorist is. The only constructive criticism I have is that there is no discussion on what to do if you're already in such a relationship/marriage- how to mitigate the damage, how to get help. There's no discussion about prevention- how to recognize warning signs before you get married. Great job on raising awareness that emotional terrorists exist and the types of damage they can do. That's really great!

"Civilization can only revive when there shall come into being in a number of individuals a new tone of mind, independent of the prevalent one among the crowds, and in opposition to it- a tone of mind which will gradually win influence over the collective one, and in the end determine its character. Only an ethical movement can rescue us from barbarism, and the ethical comes into existence only in individuals."

I believe they can be. Just under the 'author' name at top right is a sign "other videos from this poster' or something like that. Just click on it and Paul's other vids are shown, including the Wages of Spin.
