Thank you. I am one of the volunteers answering the USA helpline. They are looking for more volunteers for other helplines around the world. Marx has offered and so have a few others. Marx was in fact the first non-Masculinist to step forward. They have lots of volunteers from India, so I suspect there will be many helplines for Men in India.

+440.941.4167 is the Line for The International Association of Masculist and Masculinists.

+1.678.439.6367 is the Help Line for Men, USA.

They are working funding for toll free numbers, first in the USA and Canada then elsewhere. We Masculinists are also working on a team who can answer phone banks together and eventually counselors. We will be self funded and are not asking Donations for this. M Tech Team (Ive made posts elsewhere about that) will be contributing heavily for it.

Be careful such activities do not drain your personal resources. Every effort I have ever seen like this has resulted in the folks rapidly realising that it is an ineffective way of getting men to become ACTIVISTS.. It has been the death of many good groups and good men have quit in frustration every quickly after taking on such..

In India we went from 60 Activists in 2007 to 30 thousand in 2011 and now the numbers are approaching 100 thousand. We are well experienced on how to handle Help lines, how to ensure that we do not spend so much time with one person that he drains our time. Men are explained to clearly that a help line can take them only so far and they must go for in person coaching. The point of a help line is to help Men help themselves. We do not offer sympathy, we offer compassion, strategy, brotherhood and action.

Sounds like Canada needs one........

The joy of this set-up is you can be available to take calls at your own discretion. So if you plans for the w/end, then you don't do the line that w/end. If you have a few hours in the day when you'll be at home doing not a lot, then you mark yourself available for that time. Simples.

Interesting.. What do men ring the help lines to ask advice on? What sort of topics and what advice will be given? Or is it just down to the men to chat for themselves?

I can't say as I know right this moment... When I have a few weeks experience under my belt, I'll let you know

When Men have called me, the topics have ranged wildly. From Divorce, to wife leaving the state with the kids, to "what can I do to make a difference" to "can you come to my town" to crying to laughing...you name it.

JUst don't be telling them to engage fucking liarwyers and use the courts.. Now, that would be really dissapointing to hear of.. But so many mens groups feed the parasites with the men who come for help..

I dislike mra's and group's that promote the use of the court's as some form of "help".

I know of at least one group in Canada that consistantly does this,even though the leader of that group has spent 100's of thousand's himself and got absolutely no where.

It's like he wants others to be sucked down the toilet alongside him.
