    "Chick Flicks" Vs. Porno Movies

Here's my next observation in the gender issues world, concerning films. This one's not actually negative, or a railing bitching session like the last one, but an impartial observation. Maybe this will make your lives a little simpler.
Guys, do your wives/girlfriends ever ask you to watch "chick flicks" with them? And by "chick flicks", with quotation marks, I mean movies girls consider "chick flicks". To me, a "chick flick" is a movie populated by all main females, like Steel Magnolias or Fried Green Tomatoes or something. But I'm not referring to them. Yeah, our wife or girlfriend may want us to watch those with them too, just to torture us or whatever, but I'm not talking about those pictures right now.
What I'm talking about is movies about relationships. You know, a movie whose hero is a woman who goes through a whole evolution through the movie, but doesn't really do anything wrong and doesn't really need to learn any lessons. Recently, my girlfriend wanted me to watch this movie with her called P.S. I Love You. Have you heard of this movie? Yeah, it was one of those that was a book first. So I said, okay, y'know, I want to be fair. I'll watch it with her.
I'll be honest with you; I didn't like it very much. Part of the reason was, I didn't think I would going in, and my instincts are usually right about that. But she pushed it, like they tend to do, so all right, fine. Now, she realized and understood that I wasn't crazy about it, and my girlfriend is a pretty fair person, so she didn't get upset that I didn't like it. However, this is the point I'm trying to make.
Okay, fellas--and any girls that may be reading--you ever ask your girl to watch a porno movie with you? If yes, does she say no? And do you wonder why? A lot of women don't like dirty movies, like a lot of guys don't care for these relationship films. And I have finally figured out precisely why.
Most if not all of these relationship-y "chick flick"s have the female hero, and then her on/off love interest, which is normally a perfect man, in every way, who...I don't know, dies or something. This is the case in P.S. I Love You. Yeah, that's a real happy storyline. So, this dude is perfect: he's sexy, manly and rugged, but he's also sensitive and caring and good-hearted. Toss in any more adjectives you feel would fit. Very few guys like this exist in real life, if any (I'd like to think I have most of these qualities, but this isn't about me).
NOW. Consider what I just said, now consider porno movies. If your wife/girlfriend says no to watching a porno movie, does she give reasons? What's the biggest reason they don't like dirty movies? Okay, second biggest. The biggest is probably "these movies are degrading to women." Whatever. If they're degrading to women, why are guys the ones going spastically out of control with ecstasy until they're totally drained, physically and mentally? And why are the porno guys fifty times more well endowed than we are? "Degrading to women" is wildly stupid. We don't tell her the "chick flicks" are degrading to men, do we?
Second biggest reason: "Real women don't look like that." Exactly. Those women do not exist in real life! They just don't. Think about that, if they really existed, in real life...WE WOULDN'T NEED PORNO MOVIES!!
So when I realized that, it hit me--that's why women watch relationship movies. Because guys in real life don't actually act or look like that either. And that's the realization that I have made, and share with you here. Beyond that, I'll be objective, impartial, and say it's personal and it's your business what you wanna watch or don't wanna watch. But I don't think just one person in the couple should be able to have it both ways, if the other doesn't. If your woman won't watch a porno film, I don't think she should force you to watch a relationship flick with her. Similarly, if you don't wanna see chick flick with you, don't make her watch the dirty movie. All that in mind, work out your movie schedules, and enjoy the show!
    Cinematically Yours, Smokey

I'd rather sit through 2 hours ofBritney Spears concert footage than watch P.S. I Love You

I was forced to sit through that movie in Grade 12 for class, and I couldn't wait for it to end!

Mind you, I'm into crime shows, Comedy Central specials, Battle Royale, Roberto Benigni, Red Dwarf, Studio Ghibli, and anything that is NOT a chick flick.

Between the two options, I'd rather choose the porn, at least porn films have various formulas.

I saw one the other day Blindsided where the matriarch ( the strong feisty wimyn of the new age) played by Sandra Bullock who treated grown men like her eldest son and he was about 9

in one scene she is frogmarcing members of a gridiron teem around like they were juniors with shitted pants and directing the coach how to coach

no doubt this reflects the assigned station in life for men in a gynocracy

Or strengthen my IQ by reading about global issues and tyrants. I'm currently reading a book about "rogue regimes".

Chick flicks are dog shit and don't get me started with Porno movies.
The average feminist drone doesn't have the brains to realize that female porn stars actually make more money than male porn stars. Well, that's what happens when you cry wolf and glorify stupidity!

    Brilliant words amigos!
Pokémon: Ditto that. I feel your pain, having had to sit through that in school. I'll bet they didn't force the entire class to watch any nasty porno in that institution of higher learning, eh? Nooooooo, that would've been offensive. Am I right? Double standard-imposing hypocrites. I'm also into looking up and reading things on global events and...well, just whatever, really. I love learning new things about whatever subject happens to be floating out there on the horizon.

Sam: Well, that goes without saying. America's in love with these things, bashing men, glorifying women and "minorities" and profane language. "Greatest country in the world", huh? Yard projects or our own cinematic adventures could be fun and intriguing when we get a little time to ourselves. She (my GF) is going to work full-time AND college simultaneously, so that's going to eat up all her free time and much of her otherwise reserved sleeping time as well. But I could busy myself with leisurely activities such as these, by all means. Thanks for the suggestions.

Shaazam: Haven't seen Blindside, but I've seen plenty of trailers and previews for it. That's a shame, I always liked Sandra Bullock. But yeah, in today's (FANTASY) world, men just can't do anything sensible and intelligent and strong, noooooo, they have to send in a woman to really get anything important done. What a load of bull$h¡+. 'Course, we all know how realistic this is. See above comment directed to Sam about America being in love with this garbage.

Zuberi: That's pretty much telling it like it is. Well, if the female porn stars make more money, that certainly makes sense. Men are visual creatures, whereas for women it takes place more in the mind...they seem to prefer reading books about it. But indeed, we get this thrown in our face by all playing victim and crying blame. Waaaaaaahhh!

In Planning 10 (Grade 10 class dealing with the real world), we watched some movie that had a sex scene, which my teacher blocked with an object. It was ironic considering it was a class where we talked about sex.

I once read a book about the various types of people living in Israel, and I must say, I was longing for more once I was finished reading it.

I love to learn about different subjects, and when I go to the library, I usually end up walking out with about 5 or more books
