Robin Hood.

Did anyone see the BBC's version of Robin Hood on TV tonight?

I thought it was very good, and I especially liked the character of The Sheriff of Nottingham in it, probably my favourite character in the thing so far. There hasn't been much of Maid Marian so far, but I'm expecting her to be a bit of an 'empowered woman', and have a bit of feminist propaganda lobbed in there with her, so she will probably be annoying.
The character of Robin Hood was well acted, and was a lot better than I was expecting him to be. It didn't make me think 'what a dick' which is what I think when I watch some films or TV shows where the main character is some smug person who is always right and always has the answer.
The sets impressed me as well, they looked realistic, in some scenes, there was a medieval village -which has apparently been created especially for this show- and it looked like it had been lived-in, rather than in some TV shows, where things look too 'perfect' or as if they have been newly created.

Apparently there is no Friar Tuck in this series, which is a bit crap, but overall I enjoyed it and will be watching it next week.

Re: Robin Hood.

I have had the chance to waste a little time watching some episodes. What a load of crap it has turned into.

Robin is a nancy with as much intent to kill his enemies as a butterfly. Wooden and wozzy at the same time, he faffs about with his totally useless side-kick, deliberately avoiding 'confrontation' and having warm and fuzzy chats with the sherriff. The sherriff is a parody of a baddie. He is a kiddie-baddie.

Marion is the sort of empowered woman with 'the sneer' continually on her face and a blaming/shaming word ever ready. Poor old Robin - I might occasionally feel sorry for him when I am not shouting 'get on with it ya berk' - is the continual butt of her ire and scorn. I am waiting for his to say 'Just shut the fuck up Marion or I'll show ye the back of my friggin' hand, ye noisy toad'.

And the piece d'effrontery - one of Robin's merry men is....wait for it..... a woman... a muslim woman at that who is portrayed as being smarter than 14 merry men put together in a tub! Gordon friggin' Bennett. And no-one has shagged her yet!

The sooner Robin gets an arrow up his arse the better.

And his outlaws. Outlaws?? Steely eyed killers of the forest, hunting soldiers and robbing the rich? I haven't seen them shoot a friggin' unarmed deer yet. I have seen better Merry Men in a Village People line-up.

The only half decent bloke in the thing is Sir Guy. As I see it his only draw-back is that he fancies the stupid Marion who really deserves a good shagging by the Sherriff's guards. Guy definitly isn't getting it but God know's the troops need at least one last go each as they are falling like flies. Another few episodes and the Sherriff will have to draft the village women.

I started to get a bit pissed off with the show once it had the obvious political correctness rammed down your throat what with the 'empowered' wimmin and all.
Maid Marion was a complete twat and made me wish she'd get an arrow through the head, and Djac, or whatever the muslim girl was called just pissed me off every time time she spoke with that annoying accent.

Occasionally it made me wonder what the hell Robin Hood and the merry men were actually doing, seeing as they seemed to get a lot of opportunities to kill the Sheriff, but....they never did?

But seeing as I had started watching it, I felt compelled to watch it till the end...
The most cringe-worthy bit was probably with the muslim ninja wimmin.

Re: Robin Hood.

The BFBC (British Feminist Broadcasting Co-op)demonstrates again what the old guard have been saying publicly, that women runninng the programming have been "dumbing it down". A once great organization has been turned into a massive feminist propoganda machine poisoning a once great country.

Demonstrating again the affect that feminism has on anybody and anything, countries included.

Re: Robin Hood.

I've seen that show on BBC America and it has the stuff to be a great show if they will just get rid of the femme crap then they can have a thought worthy program.
