Physical: Third degree burn on my hand when I was a teen.

[physical]:
The worst I had, was related to downstairs operation... I had some issue going on which came about due to a twisted tube, slipped disc in my back and a small hernia - all coming at the same time. I woudl go from cold sweats to hot sweats, I had to put frozen meat down there and it took two years before the NHS finally acknowledged I had a problem (even after several scans). They tried giving me pain pills, antibiotics, and all sorts... nothing worked until I had the operation. Waking from the operation was worse pain ever. I'm quite a resiliant person where pain is concerned, but despite having a local injection to kill the pain - it caused me to cry, despite not being able to move. Every time I moved my body, the pain would shoot from my groin up my torso and through my arms & neck. After about five minutes of listening to a nurse saying "Ermm. Doctor... he's.. uh.. not looking too good... uhhhh Doctor..? The Doctor won't be long, Sir... calm down.... we'll get you sorted shortly... DOCTORRRRRR!" he finally arrived dropped a stack of morphine in me and bye-bye world for another few hours.
[mental]: Bah... I guess it's this way, because the 'first time is the worst'. But I had to get on a train and my eldest was still young, only two years old. She was sleeping on her mother's shoulder, and I gave her a kiss goodbye. She woke up as I sat on the seat in the train carriage. She was facing me (as her mother was walking away), and she threw her arms out screaming "Dadddddddyyyyyyy". Man, that memory still to this day hurts like ... well, like half the population could never understand, because only a tiny portion of them will ever endure that kind of pain.
Despite there being the sound of the train starting up, a window between us, and distance of a few yards... I could hear every sound-wave perfectly. It was as if my hearing was tuned to just her voice...
There have been many more pains since then, but I think that was the one which hurt the most, it set the precedent for what was to come...
Out of the gloom a voice spake unto me. 'Smile and be happy, Things could get worse."
So I smiled and was happy, and behold... Things did get worse.
